We rang up the other day and were first told there were no deals, so we rang VM to see what they could do and gave Sky another call to cancel. All of a sudden they offered us Multi-room for free, no cost for the box, subscription or installation, and it was cheaper than VM.
We were quite happy with that as we really wanted an extra box, we're now paying £56 for 3 mixes, sports, ESPN, HD and multi-room0 -
Hi, was wondering if anybody could give me some advise please,
I just spoke to sky as my six months half price tv deal ends on the 26th and will go back to £84 per month. As i have phoned too early nothing is showing on the screen for a further discount.
However, i have been offered unlimited broadband for £7.50 per month with six months free and a years free line rental.
I am interested in the broadband offer but am unsure whether to wait until after the 26th and try and do a deal for tv as well or take the offer now and then try for tv offer at a later date.
Can anybody tell me which would be better please.0 -
Phoned to cancel - they said I have had loads of offers in the past and no more offers were available. If I wanted to save money, I would have to downgrade my package!0

I'm new to all this after reading yesterday's MSE email - I have Sky with unlimited broadband and calls which I've been paying full price for since June 2011 and recently added a multiroom box in November. Does the contract have to be ending for me to threaten to cancel? I'd assume I've got 10 months left on it after adding the multiroom box.0

So did you call their bluff and cancel?A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
Well I phoned up Sky (08442 410266 Option 4 then 4 again I think) and said I'd had a great offer from Virgin Media and although didn't want to leave would be silly not to take the offer. The lovely person gave me 25% off my bill for next 12 months- very happy0

We have the full package with SKY plus HD and Multiroom and were paying around £79 a month for this. I rang up and cancelled and had a cancellation date etc...
SKY pestered me a little and a couple of days before it ran out I called them.
Managed to get half price on my package, and Multiroom for £2.50 (from £10 per month) for the full 12 months!! Proper result.
I reckon we're saving about £460 for the year with exactly the same package and it's still a 12 month contract.
Lesson for the day, play hardball, they'll play back!!0 -

Were you still in the original 12 month contract? I'm interested in reducing my monthly payment too but as I've asked previously in this thread, does this apply to new customers (ie in the first 12months of subscription)?0 -

the only way for customers in contract to reduce costs is to downgrade package, you can't cancel as you're in contract so there will be no retention offers on the system on your account, used to work for them so dealt with this quite a lot but please don't hold it against me0
