Hi guys wondering if you can help. I currently have sky+hd with movies, broadband calls and line rental. I have recently split with my partner and the sky account is in his name. So is it going to be cheaper for me to set up a sky account as a new customer and if so does anyone know what kind of deal i would be able to get. ?Ideally i would like to get sky plus hd broadband phone calls and rental. I am not too bothered about movies as i really need to keep costs down0

Update to my post of Dec 30th where I cancelled Sky, awaiting another discount offer. Well, they phoned me yesterday (7 days before the end of the notice period) and offered another 50% off for 12 months with no new contract - happy days all round and special thanks to gratiss for the reassuring comments re the workings of Sky.:money:

I have the following numbers for Sky....08442411411 and 08442411333. when I call neither has the cancellation option. Is there another number? Thanks0

I have been sent quite a tempting offer from Virgin Media to get me to switch from Sky- part of me is tempted but I have been very happy with Sky over the years so not sure I want to switch. Also given the numerous horrors I had with ntl many years ago not sure I want to go to cable.
But am thinking that I may still call Sky and say I'm leaving just to see if any discount materialises as others have done here.0 -
I hate haggling/threatening to leave etc. but still wanted to reduce my Sky bill. When I rang I explained I had been looking at my bills and wanted to know if there was anything Sky could recommend to help me reduce my bill, as with costs rising I didn't know how much longer I could afford Sky for. Bingo - 25% off TV package for 12 months!
Happy :j0 -
Just to update. Rang back today saying I had been thinking about the offer yesterday and could I have the full figures to help me work out whether I can stay. I told her I was offerd to remove HD and the 25% discount. I didnt mention I had been offered 6 months discount, She said "Right, so it was 12 months at 25% and remove hd, yes?" I agreed and the result is my new bill is £31 per month, down from £51. Still got all the channels (just not the HD version,)still have the sky plus features and have just saved £20 per month, £240 over the next 12 months. Well happy :-)
Just done the same, thanks.0
