  • Another 50% discount offered from SKY.

After having 50% off since June 2010 (18mths) they would only offer us 25% off for 12mths so I went ahead with the cancellation. We were due to be switched off this Friday and had been waiting patiently for a call, it never came. So I rang today as we didn't want to be switched off from SKY asking if they could still honour the 25% discount I was previously offered and to cancel HD / ESPN & Multiroom, all my details were passed to the win back team to call me back after 1900.
I got a call back from the win back team at 1900 and was offered 50% off for 6months on a rolling contract and a £20 credit as I needed to give 31day notice to cancel multi-room & HD, I was then transferred to cancellations who offered me no discount for HD or multi-room.

So all is not lost, if you don't get a call from SKY give them a call.

  • I also mentioned the sky offer of a gesture of good will for my order problems, which I have yet to discuss or agree with Sky. The VM agent just said call him back as soon as I had confirmed the gesture with Sky and he would see whether VM could match of beat the gesture..

I spoke to Sky. Their gesture of good will is to upgrade my TV package to Entertainment Extra and give me additional credit on my account. The net effect is that I will pay approximately £23 per month for Sky +, TV entertainment extra pack, phone free evening & w/end calls (inc 0870 and 0845 nos), unlimited b/band, phone line rental, free WIFI router and free install for everything (apart from a new PSTN phone line install) with a 12 month contract.
I'm in a real quandy now as whether to stay with VM or move across to Sky.

I spoke to VM to discuss the Sky gesture of good will but they couldn't get near this offer so I'm now off to Sky and am really pleased with the deal that I have got. :j:j
  • I am on Sky+HD, Entertainment Extra, Unlimited Broadband and Freetime (Evening and Weekend calls) costing about £51

Rang yesterday saying I was thinking of cancelling and got 25% off TV package for 12mths. Said couldn't do anything for phone or BB.
Rang back today to cancel phone and BB to go to cheaper option, when they asked which option I mentioned Talk Talk essentials (£12.75 all in) plus £40 cashback and £25 love2shop voucher via Quidco.

Sky immediately gave me free line rental for 12mths and half price BB for 12mths. My total bill has dropped from £51 to £29!! :rotfl:

Thanks. I will check but even if I can't them free, I will use saynoto0870.com to save money. I can honestly advise that, before I got the VM tickles offer for free 0845/0870 nos, I hadn't made a call to either of these sort of nos. I will also use email where necessary; including with sky and ask for compensation for any loss of service.

what number do you use to call sky?

I am sure my contract has finished and it would be good to renew with a discount!

Also what is the best way to get ESPN, as really want to watch one of the FA cup games just for 1 week, do you need pay monthly or what?

I use saynoto0870 as much as possible but there are still the odd numbers I can't find anything for

Answer: go through with the cancellation and within 2 months they will be begging you to come back for 50% off....

Risky strategy with us. Our cancellation went through in December and we lost TV services on Monday. We have made alternative arrangements for recording programmes and would probably turn down the 50% offer now which we would have taken before they cut us off and we saw life without Sky and their £40/month fee.
Hark at you going all strict :D

If I can't find anything in saynoto0870, I will send an email to either customer services or to a senior director (CEO normally) of the company concerned. Before I got my VM tickles offer, I can honestly say that I couldn't remember the last time that I phoned an 0845 or 0870 number.
  • Hi all,
Ive tried twice now to see if I can get an offer on my sky package(all channels £62.00 pm).
I've tried at the start of the month and in the middle, all they ever say to me is check our website for existing customer offers!
Don't want to leave sky,but been with them 10years+ now and only once had an offer.I hear all the time people who are getting discount this and discount that,I can't seem to get one.
Would threaten to quit but,the way it goes with me,they will probably just let me go,lol !
Anyone got any good suggestions for getting an offer, bearing in mind i've tried 2 times and the operator will know when I phone again that they have rejected me twice.
    Cheers
