Hi, I've just come off the from from sky. We had 6months at half price and due to the economic climate (I work in retail) couldn't afford to pay for all the subscription. I was told originally that when this offer runs out ring back up and they will be able to offer it again.
The only offer I had from retentions was with broadband which i am already tied to AOL with.
I have now cancelled Sky and it will cut off 4th Feb, can anyone tell me am I likely to get a call or mailing to go back.
My kids will not be happy0 -
I used the on-line live chat on the Sky website yesterday to get the Sky Sports package added at a cost of £10.13 a month for 3 months. I was at work & unable to dial the call centre so used the online chat. I did ask if they could discount the line rental as this would have been more advantageous but was happy with the 50% off anyway. It did take an age though - I got the impression that the person I was "chatting" with must have been dealing with several other conversations at the same time as it took about 40 minutes to conclude!!0

Was paying a ridiculous £52 for my sky bundle. Just called Sky and said wasn't value for money and was leaving.
Have now been offered 9 months FREE broadband and line rental which will save me over £200!! Plan to phone back after 9 months to say I'm leaving again!!
well worth doing. Thank you MSE0 -
same boat as a few on here. Just come off my second lot of 50% off and all they want to offer is 25% off. So i am now into my cancellation period and will leave if they dont want to offer me 50% off.
Have movies plus kids. The programs that will be mostly missed are the kids channels apart from that any other channel is rarely viewed apart from what is avaliable on freeview.
Save me some money though!!
I was offered same as you 25% off, in November, went ahead and cancalled, took about 5 weeks for them to ring me with 12 month 1/2 price offer.
Stick with it.0 -
the 50% offer is only available to the winback team which means you do have to cancel to get communication from them (no guarantees that will happen, so be aware of that), cancellations have 25% offers for 6/12 months but may have discounts on Broadband, line rental and calls packages - to be blunt, these are not dependent on the length of time you are with the company and if anyone says that they are not telling you the full truth. They can only offer whichever offers are available on your account (and some accounts don't have offers available) and can't "offer stack" so you may get one or another, there are teams within cancellations who do not have any offers whatsoever so if you end up talking to them, you won't get anything - so be aware of that one too. They will check quickly (and have the tools to do so) if you are in a VM area so if you aren't don't threaten them with that, that will no longer work.0

very informative and seems to back up the theory that Sky are now turning their attention to retaining TV customers via broadband and phone discounts. Not much use to me as our exchange is not LLU.Hark at you going all strict0 -

sometimes best saving for customer is by taking offer on phone, broadband and calls and not on the tv - depends on tv package
Glad to help out anytime, know quite a bit, lol0 -

I will see my cancellation through and see if they ring back with an offer, problem for Sky is that my main incentive for using them is the recording feature on the box so once I find an alternative arrangement for that they will have to offer even more to get me back.
If they were to LLU my exchange I wouldn't mind paying for the TV as anytime+ and their fairly decent broadband offering would come into play.Hark at you going all strict0 -
you can get PVR with freeview these days, same thing record, rewind etc etc, there is a rolling process of upgrading all exchanges at the moment so keep an eye on it, but is reliant on BT Openreach who do all the work for all providers (cept Virgin)0

Back in June I managed to get a 25% reduction for 6mths. I had Entertainment, Films & Sports plus HD. This expired mid December, I've only just remembered so called Sky tonight.
I told them I was reducing my package down by cancelling Sports, films & HD unless they had any other offers.
The lady I spoke to was very helpful & put me on hold (obviously to speak to a supervisor for a better deal) for a while, but said the best they could offer was to remove the HD & offer a 20% on the full package.
We now have 6mths of Entertainment, sports & films for £42 per month, not the best but we're happy as hubby does enjoy the football & we do watch a few films a week0
