To be fair and believe me I understand your anger over this, I doubt that Watchdog would be interested it's just another company gone to the wall to them. They would be interested if the guy was a serial scammer, but from the quick look I've had for the benefit of you who have posted, I've not seen any other referances to the guy involving anything else.
From what I've been shown the guy has been trading for about 4 years and not the usual hit and run scammer so doubt that watchdog will even give it a second look.
His shop has been shutdown on ebay now but as you will see his Pos Feedback was 99.3% so not the worst I've seen by a long way

You're probably right. It's probably just another company going under due to the economic climate.

However, my anger lies in the fact that he would have known his company was going under when he accepted my business (and many others') late June, and so he continued to accept phones from people in order to sell as much as he could before going under without paying his customers. For that I wish him nothing but horrific repercussions.

    Previous premises I believe ;)
It's not just about the money
  • Well said. He clearly knew he was going under and outright ripped us off. This is considering business did go under and he didn't just sell the phones and make a quick move to costa del sol for the remainder of the summer and "For that I wish him nothing but horrific repercussions" Be nice if he had the decency to post something about the state of his affairs and at least let us know why our cash isn't coming

Sadly, if he had any decency he wouldn't have intentionally and wilfully ripped us off.

As the saying goes: "What goes around comes around." Hopefully what comes his way is an !!! kicking.
  • I have also been conned, sent a w995 to them at the beginning of july, and i am annoyed that someone could do this to me. I had all the lies as other vunerable people. I checked the comparison websites and this looked ok, but how wrong was i????? It makes me realise that people dont have a conscience like me as i wouldnt be able to sleep at night if i have not paid for goods i had received what a shark. I have contacted watchdog to as i would like to see the *********named and shamed to make me feel better. There is nothing on london gazette yet that says they have ceased trading and as it is a limited company we must fight for our rights and persue our phones or money back..... What a crook.....

    Question

Why were people using this service and not a trusted mobile phone recycler with hundreds of satisfied customers like Mazuma?

Proabaly the same reason people risk buying from mobiles.co.uk ...PRICE
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: (sorry couldn't resist )

If someone offers to buy or sell at the better price a lot of people will take it regardless of the risk !
Esp. if they are on price comparison sites that back them up and some people even when they read a bad reveiw will rather be swayed by the good ones.

Got to agree though if I was ever thinking of selling a phone it would be Mazuma for me
It's not just about the money
  • Yeah they were offering the best price. I think we were fooled by the fact they were listed on the biggest uk comparison site.Doesn't make us sound that stupid i don't think
  • I also sent Earthmobile a phone about 2 weeks ago, thinking it was strange I hadn't heard anything I went to log into the website yesterday, and was greeted by the 'ceased trading' message.

I was only due £34 (and as other people have suggested, I went with this as it was the highest price i could get on sellmymobile, however I have sold 6 (well 5 if you discount this one) each to different recycling companies and haven't had a problem with any of the other ones).

I didn't get an acknowledgement from them so fingers crossed I will get my phone back but I won't hold my breath!!
I'm a girlie whirlie despite my username
