Earth Mobile Ceased Trading can anyone help

  • Well as Dennis has been the recipient of parcels for earth mobile, and a number of u have had the confirmed signature of delivery as Dennis I was quite simply listing the people involved in the entire business.

I've only been trying to supply info for people to piece together as my girlfriend has been stung by earthmobile for 230 quid for her iPhone.

I would never have sent my phone off to a place trading from a storage facility personally. As it's harder to up and leave a rented office than a postbox.

Sit back and await the administration to deal with everything and leave it as a bad decision.

Ok firstly everyone should back off spike theres nothing wrong with giving information i for one am grateful it's not as if we aren't all in the same position. I don't wanna start an argument though.I just feel stupid i didn't read the reviews about his service first. I honestly don't know how this guy sleeps at night. I have to sell my reading festival ticket now because this Russel guy has robbed us. In this age of consumer rights and business laws it's hard to believe we can still be done over like this. It's a nice thought that we may get some money back through administrators but i can't help but feel it's unlikely. Watchdog love a story like this so i think anyone who doesn't write to them is giving this con man another chance to get away. I think it's only fair we get to see this scum on television so everyone who knows him knows how he makes his money. More importantly we need to stop this bloke pulling another scam. PLEASE PLEASE INFORM WATCHDOG! give your story and then hopefully we will see him shamed on tv.He will get whats coming to him one day. Also if any info about insolvency or administration comes up please post :)
  • Also if anyone isn't aware theres some discussion going on on the sell my mobile page on facebook (in discussions tab) including an apology from sell my mobile (who i found earth mobile through) may be worth checking for info
  • I've been conned too. He's had my phone since mid june. Been in contact with him a few times and he's said he'll send a cheque but never has.

Called the office today and got the message tried his mobile (got it off an email if anyone wants it.....) but no answer
  • Whats the Mob Number? Also get on watchdog!

Hi midland and welcome to the Forum,
First of all the to imply that Dennis has anything to do with this by posting his details up is wrong.
I pointed out that it was a mail box type address and gave the link way back on the first page to point out that a visit would be a waste of time and that is all ;)
You have to bear in mind that there will be a few Earth mobile customers who will benefit from having Dennis on their side rather than against them.
If Dennis has got phones on his premises and he is owed monies for example I doubt that he will be in a rush to hand them over and there will probably be phones arriving in the post over the next week or so too ;)

It's probably easy for me to say as I am not owed money from them (but I have had quite a few companies over the years who have taken me for a lot more than the values of a few mobile phones)
The problem at the moment is we do not know whether this has been deliberate or not and it's too early to say.
There are companies who go bust in this present climate due to no fault of their own and quite a number of them owing monies to the general public due to no fault themselves.
That said from my experiance and the general feedback from customers I think as I said earlier the writing was on the wall
Watchdog love a story like this so i think anyone who doesn't write to them is giving this con man another chance to get away
To be fair and believe me I understand your anger over this, I doubt that Watchdog would be interested it's just another company gone to the wall to them. They would be interested if the guy was a serial scammer, but from the quick look I've had for the benefit of you who have posted, I've not seen any other referances to the guy involving anything else.
From what I've been shown the guy has been trading for about 4 years and not the usual hit and run scammer so doubt that watchdog will even give it a second look.
His shop has been shutdown on ebay now but as you will see his Pos Feedback was 99.3% so not the worst I've seen by a long way
It's not just about the money

I'm in the same boat - sent off my iPhone 32GB 3GS (£255), which they acknowledged receipt of on 28 June! I kept getting the same line about the cheque going out that afternoon and apologies for it. Last week I accepted that I was being ripped off and today's notice on their voicemail and website about ceasing trading came as no surprise. I hope the b****** dies a long painful death.

Annoyingly, I checked out comments and websites about recommended recycling companies before sending off my phone and they were recommended by many places.

Note to self: never, ever sell to the company offering the most money as they're probably crooks.

Next stop, Watchdog website. After that, an FPS game to take out my frustrations.
  • ok thanks for your opinions but please everyone please still report to watchdog! @silk
