Earth Mobile Ceased Trading can anyone help

Amazing how after the initial anger has subsided and people start to calm down that suddenly Earth mobile is not such a bad apple after all.
People were so quick to jump to arms and raise a lynching party, I don't see them jumping to apologise now.
I disagree. If it wasn't for TS we wouldn't know anything. EM hasn't kept us informed at all as to what's going on.0 -

Until i receive my 3 phones back I wont be aplogising, in fact I wont be apologising anyhow. They have cost me money in the now depreciation of the handset. Why should I say sorry for that???!!!0 -

when did you send them to Earthmobile, much before the cessation date?
Mine was weeks before and I cant find the IMEI, so I don't hold out much hope.
Have you tried contacting your operator (O2 etc) they may have a record or alternatively no contract paper work lying around at home or filed?0 -
Yes I too have been on the phone to Trading Standards and they advised the same to me. They explained they were working with EM to repatriate as many phones as possible. Lets hope most people get their some or all of their money or phones back without too much delay.
You will need to get your IMEI number(s) and have the details of the phone(s) and the Reference number (probably in an email from EM). You can call your provider as Nick mentioned above; and get the IMEI number without too much difficulty.
I'm not counting any chickens though - but will feedback if there are any developments.0 -
Yesterday morning I had an email from the Trading Standards Office who are dealing with this advising me that my 2 mobile phones had been posted out to me that day.
From what I've been told by Trading Standards, even if you haven't got your IMEI number get in touch with them and give them the information which you do have such as your Earth Mobile reference number, date posted, if sent recorded delivery the details of that etc.0 -
For those of you thinking alls well now that your phones are on their way back to you maybe disappointed.
Had both of my phones back today in a small thin jiffy envelope. Opened the envelope and the back covers and batteries are all loose inside. One back cover is snapped in 2. Both phones have sticky labels on the screen, one came off fine the others stuck fast.
The phones were posted back by Mr Tillbury. Well thank you very much for sending them back in pieces!0 -
I haven't heard anything at all. Hope TS will give us an update soon.0

Please email us (data protection) permission to discuss your case with EM also, quote your CD Case ID (if you have it) so we can make a note on your file.
You may receive further contact from us in due course.

I've not received any further news since my last contact with Consumer Direct on the 27 August, who I gave all my details to.
I've not received my phone back (in one piece or otherwise!), or any communication from RT, having sent my information to Earth Mobile via email around the 27 August also.
Is there a cut-off point/date when I'll know that I have been "robbed" by Earth Mobile and that I won't be seeing my 3GS again?0 -

Why should anyone owe that thief an apology? Any who actually believes that EM is "not such a bad apple"? They owe me £255 or my perfect condition 32GB White 3GS back (in original box no less!).
There's only one person that needs to apologise, and that's RT/EM for accepting customers phones long after they knew things were going tits up.0 -

Well said and I agree with you 100%.
gjchester, what way have you personally been affected by Earth Mobile ceasing trading?
I'm waiting for them to get in touch about the crazy way they posted my phones back which arrived damaged. Trading Standards said to put in a claim for compensation against Royal Mail. Unfortunately under Royal Mails terms and conditions, they will only pay compensation if the item has been packaged using their guidelines. For mobile phones their guidelines are that each phone needs to be packaged inside a box aswell as being securely cushioned/well padded. 2 phones bundled in a jiffy bag means that the items were not packaged as recommended which means no compensation!0
