I sent my Mobile to earth mobile a couple of weeks back. I got a via email confirmating they had recevied it and that they would send me £46 as this is what it was worth.
I have not been paid and today have looked on the website and they ceased trading today !!! do I have any chance of getting either my money or phone back!!.. No one answers when I call (typically). The thing that annoys me is they would have known a while back they were going to cease this does not happen overnight. How can they be allowed to keep advertising and promising payment when they know full well this is a false statement.

Posting your phone off to a random address for paymeny. What could go wrong?
Afraid youll have to get in line with the rest of their creditors. I suspect its quite a long line as well.
At least it was only fifty quid or so.0 -
I to have been stung by Earth Mobile, I sent my iphone 3G via recorded delivery and was expecting £150.
Do I have any rights? As I sent it by recorded and they confirmed they have recieved it, what are the chances of getting my phone or money?

I've had the same thing as well. Sent my old phone off which was worth £20 beginning of June, have been pestering them ever since. Was told that they couldn't see any reason as to why I hadn't been paid, cheque would be sent out ASAP. Rung them a week later to say I hadn't received a cheque, they said 'very sorry, might have been lost in the post, ring us if it hasn't come by next week'. Check the website today & they've ceased trading. I will be looking into trading standards or a civil suit possibly. I know it's only £20, but it's the fact they would have known when I spoke to them & they outrightly lied to me.Posting your phone off to a random address for paymeny. What could go wrong?
I don't feel that that's very helpful. My phone is very old & I would not be able to sell it elsewhere. Why reply with something so pointless?:A0 -
Realistically, none.
The company will have an administrator/liquidator appointed and all the assets will be used to pay off the creditors.
You will probably be a 2nd line creditor, and if you are lucky, you might get 10p in the £ in 4 years time.
Look on it as money lost for now.

I'm just ringing the insolvency service to see if they've gone into administration, if they have I will try to go through the administrator. If not, it could be a bit more tricky. I will keep you guys updated =]:A0

According to the insolvency service they haven't heard of them going into administration. Trading standards have advised we write them a letter - I have the address if anybody needs it - explaining that they owe me £20 & if I don't get it I will take it further with trading standards. Not expecting a reply, but best to go through the right channels.:A0
