I hope this is posted on YAYW, Perfect wedding ect ect I will be checking later and if it's not I will be posting it up. I think it is totally disgusting how companies think they can get away with scamming people out of hard earned cash.

They should be ashamed of themselves.

I put it on hitched.co.uk but they've had it removed. I think potential customers should be aware. Fair enough if you like their sound and are 100% sure you're not going to cancel but if there is any doubt or you're wavering then best to avoid them. Especially if you're not sure of the amount you've got to spend.

Just checked they don't have ANY bookings at all for ANY DATE in December.

In his own guide Danny says that good bands are booked up well in advance:-
    "Book Early
Good bands will get booked up early. Peak dates for function bands are Fridays and Saturdays between May and September and the last 3 weeks of December. If you are planning a wedding during these times you should be booking your band at least 12 months before the date of the wedding."

So let's see - the last 3 weeks in December are peak times but Hula Groove don't have any bookings at all according to their availability checker.:eek::eek:

No wonder he was trying to get as much money as he could out of the agmoore family. ;)

This why hitched.co.uk deleted the post

Your post was deleted by JonathanKaye.

Subject: Thinking of booking Hula Groove Wedding Band? Please read this before you do.

Reason: This issue has been resolved with the bride and groom

    Thank you,
    wedding planning discussion forums team

They are missing the point though. I was trying to stop what happened to the OP happening to anyone else. Hitched obviously don't care if it does happen to anyone else.
    Oh well. Can but try.

Takoda: maybe someone at hitched.co.uk is friends with someone in the band's management? :)

Also, how on earth did hitched.co.uk find out that it was resolved?

Don't have any idea MBW. They just sent an email to the account I signed up with and I've posted the text of it above. Richman seems to have fingers in lots of pies. ;)

Here's another bit from his guide:-
    "Admin and Communication
A professional function band should have at least one person responsible for handling all of the administration and planning of your wedding. There are many bands with excellent musicians and singers but disorganised and slapdash when it comes to making the arrangements necessary to make your big day run without a hitch. Speak to the band manager and try to get a sense of whether they act in a professional and organised manner.!" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

This was all done many pages back and quite a few posts were subsequently deleted.

This bit made me chuckle quite a lot.

But, I do not think it fair that the posts are all being removed.

The OP cancelled within 1 working day, it wasn't week or months later, but 1 working day. I am glad the title has been changed anyway, good job OP.

Other couples should have the RIGHT to know what kind of people they are dealing with before the book them from people who have been though that experience. How many other people are going to be stung by this and get scared into paying up?
