Oh, the ignore button is a wonderful feature - just used it - 4 times, 4 less people thinking they know everything when they know nowt and 1 person who thinks he knows my personal affairs, creepy!
Peace, at last!

Odd as it feels to be defending our resident fantasist, if you & the car are old enough insurance is available for that sort of money. My ’99 S4 costs about the same.scotsman4th wrote: »……..Oh, and £210 for fully comp on a v6 mondeo? My !!!!.
Whether it would be the same if I had a £0 excess…..
Or if I’d modified it to get extra power…….……..my policy excess on a claim!!! Which is £0 ……
Or if I’d dramatically increased the top speed………….. because the exhaust on my car provides 15% extra BHP……..
Or if I was driving it round in an un-roadworthy condition…………..Car has a top speed of 170 MPH
I don’t know…….I am able to drive mine to the scrape yard as it has Tax and MOT on it for the next month - I just think it will fail its MOT on a few things I am aware of, £400+ easy to put right……
I suspect not assuming I had had the sense to declare all these material facts to my insurance company.0 -

That was more my point. It wasnt so much the £210, but all the wee bonuses that seemed to be there.
But for a v6 mondy to have been tuned to get 170 mph ( I wont look it up, is that their top speed?)
My wife has a group 14 car, no additional NCB, 7 years driving, wrong side of 30, full NCB during that time and we're struggling to get it under £400.
I struggle to get my group 4 for that lol (10 yr NCB, ok, 3 points but it makes no difference with or without them).
Still, at least i'm on ignore now. I can start to REALLY say what I think when replying.0 -
Top speed for the 2.5 V6 Mondeo is 134mph 167bhp.
0-60 of 10.1 secs!!!!

What a POS.
Info from Parkers.

There is absolutely no chance sassy-one has a Mondeo that does 170mph.
I will retract this statement if proof is provided by way of a speed run and radar gun. If I had a 170mph Mondeo I'd want to provide this proof because that would be some achievment!0 -

It would have to be one of the ex BTCC works cars, but they of course had a two litre V6 and not the 2.5 litre lump which Sassy has been crowing about.
One would hope that with 170mph potential, other things like the brakes, wheels, tyres and suspension would have been sorted.;)
And then of course, having spent all this time and money on the car, you take it straight down to RapidFit for a cheapo service!
Priceless :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Yep, the brakes, wheels, tyres and suspension have been sorted to the extent that the car is on the way to the scrap yard as it won't pass an MOTSounds good to me.
I am able to drive mine to the scrape yard as it has Tax and MOT on it for the next month - I just think it will fail its MOT on a few things I am aware of, £400+ easy to put right.
So just want to get rid of it before it becomes a problem for me
Shame, as it is tidy and on a 2000 plate but just don't want to invest anymore money into it as spent a lot on it last MOT........0 -

I’m sure Ford (or one of the F1 teams) would be more than happy to give him a job if he can get a slug like Mondeo to do 170 by changing the exhaust.
Hell, I’m sure Ford would employ him if he could get an auto Mondeo to 170 without things exploding0
