When a drink driver takes one of the members of your family or even your child/children, you will understand a drink driver should NEVER be allowed to return to the road.

If they did it once, what's stopping them doing it again?

Insurance will be recorded on MID that OP was banned for DD (Drink Driving) so underwriters could look at such information.

Get real Sassy, the OP has been very open and honest, nobody gets a life ban for any motoring conviction, give the guy a chance.

I don't condone what the OP has done, but we need to keep things in perspective.;)

Hence why I said all Drink Drivers should be banned, not they will be or must be ;)

Some people deserve second chances, drink drivers, in my option, do not :o

The MID does not record whether you have a DD or not

Sassy - Stop being a freaking idiot.

You sit all high and mighty on your self imposed morality throne.

You come across as a jackass.

Do one and exit this thread - go annoy someone else.

Also, a lot of hire companies will refuse, point blank to hire any car/van etc to anyone with a conviction recorded against them for DD or DDD

It's lucky they dont refuse people for being a self opinionated bore, some people would be walking everywhere for the rest of their life:rotfl:

Cool, lots of people agree with that, but what has that got to do with the question??

I cannot believe some of the idiots on here. We don't know the full story. There is one thing having a few pints the night before and then driving at 11:00am the next day thinking you're perfectly fine only to find you're not.

The other thing is getting drunk and then driving back home, its these sort of drink drivers which need locking up.

As for insurance it was over ten years ago, it will probably be an issue but as big as of an issue as you might think.

I am sure a lot of us have been over the limit or have had alchohol in our systems without realising.

And very much like sassy you are making the mistake of thinking that:

    a. This has any relevance to the question posed

    b. Anyone actually cares about your opinion :D

But crack on, clearly a guy who has posted over 9,000 times one internet forum alone in 2 years ( has an almost insane urge to share his opinions.
