"plenty"???
Can you list half a dozen fwd cars running 290bhp plus to their front wheels??
Obvious one is ford focus rs. What others do the same?
No FWD has the other great advantage of not needing power steering, unless the car is stupidly heavey of course.0 -

Agreed.
My original point was which standard cars have that power - the answer is one , maybe a couple.
A modified car can be anything you want it to be, no matter how bad or undriveable so I was meaning cars as they left the factory.

Update - really not happy today.
The car I was about to buy has been involved in an accident. I'm not yet sure on the extent of the damage. I guess it it's a write off then I'll have to pull out, so here's hoping that it's minor and easily repairable.0 -
If it's much more than a minor scrape I'd probably walk away to be honest.
Subarus are money pits at the best of times, and owning one that's likely to throw up post-accident problems is not something I ever want to go through again. Also nobody will buy it off you which is how I ended up stuck with mine for 4 years.
I should have let them write it off.0 -
As Lum says...anything more than a bent panel or two and I'd walk away.
Plenty others to choose from and no need to lumber yourself with a car that you know has been pranged.

I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
have more info now - it seems to be minor damage. The rear bumper needs replacing but apparently there are none in the country. I'm trying to think of the likely outcome here. The insurer is surely not going to be happy waiting ages for parts to arrive.0

If my experience is anything to go by (my imported Subaru Legacy B4 RSK was rear ended 3 times in the 4 years I owned it) that car will be off the road for about 3 months now.0

If you do take ownership, you could face the same problems in the event of a bump
