    We're doing the calzone tonight.

There has been a slight disaster though as DH put the rolled out bases on grill trays rather than baking trays so they fell through:mad:

Threw a bit of a paddy as they looked good up until that point. :o

Found solid baking trays and transferred and patched up to the best of my ability. They are now cooking.

Katie helped DH with the rolling out tonight, she even brought her step into the kitchen so she could reach. :D

The bechamel was possibly a bit thin, but I will get a picture after they are done, whatever they look like. :)

MDW you are doing a great job, well done! :T These kitchen mishaps are sent to try us from time to time but it sounds like you have it all under control now anyway :) Sure they will be lovely and it's great that Katie has been able to help you. I am looking forward to seeing your photos too! :D

Ready to Fill (Distaster imminent :) but which one?)

    2 Done

Oops - at least it's edible

Another thumbs up, DH suggested a touch of sugar as the tomatoes were a bit tart (but he has a sweet tooth and isn't a lover of tomatoes).

The only fiddling I did was use dried oregano instead of fresh basil as it's in the cupboard.

DH also spotted their similarity to Cornish Pasties, idea for the future?

Tonight (once DH has cleared the kitchen) I will be doing the components of the Bacon & Onion Pudding for tomorrow.

Cracking photos again, MDW :T And I love how you managed to rescue them !

Winter squash risotto for us tonight, and we loved it  7/10 from !!!!!! (which is almost as high as a veggie meal is every likely to get from him), and a pure 10/10 from me. I'd never have believed that coconut in a risotto would work so well ! We both found it a massive portion, but we did both eat off-plan today so Kitty might have been more pleased by the sheer size of it.

    A future regular without a doubt !

Okay now, time to give some thought to next week's testing. I will be doing three evening meals again, on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday most likely, and the meals to chose from are as follows:

    veggie burgers
    sweetcorn fritters
    calzone
    onion tart tatin
    moroccan rice

So if anyone has a burning desire to test any of those next week, let me know and I'll go for it - otherwise I'll just pull three outta hat ;) I would like it if calzone was one of the three though as I need to test out the whole carrot loaf batch.

Few other Kitty meals that I have not been able to have a go at as yet - green pea soup, surprise soup, lunchtime rice salad, coconut rice pudding and the BNS tart. I did the BNS tart before, but I definitely want to try it out as part of the Kitty month - so if anyone fancies a stab at any of the above, go for it :T

Sorry I've not been recipe-testing this week, chaps! Real life has been a bit hectic. I will try to catch up over the next few days!

    Me too...
I did want to try 3 meals this week, and so far have only mangaged one !!
And I wont fit any more in this week now ... next week maybe 2 ish :o:rotfl:

I was going to try the squash risotto... as I found some pumpkin in the freezer :D... but I have been out allllllllll day with the biddies, and we had lunch out, so I didn't really feel like eating when I got in.
We went to Costco. I love Costco :D... they do too, but I haven't taken them since before my dad had his stroke (over 2 years ago)
I dont think we will leave it sooooo long next time, as they had a really good day... bought lots of stuff, which is all sorted and froze for them now ;) Happy days :D Happy tired biddies. All is good :D
DH also spotted their similarity to Cornish Pasties, idea for the future?

Ahhhh.... now that does sound like a gooooood frugalisation ;)

Right, I am off to sort out my weekend stuff..as visiting a friend :j
    More happy days :D:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a fab weekend xx

Cool Shankletons :) So, we have calzone and we have sweetcorn fritters - any takers for that third spot ? (the choices being veggie burgers, onion tart tatin and Moroccan rice)

I (hopefully) can join in Monday and Tuesday...
And would quite like to try calzone, veggie burgers, and morrocan rice.
Acutally... deffo the veggie burgers on Monday for me, as I can do the whole batch, and freeze 3 portions for later in the week, when I am late shift ;)
And whatever everyone else decides for the Tuesday :D

I'll have a go at the veggie burgers :)

I'll replace the kidney beans with pinto beans as that's what's in the house.
