Nuala- I think its fine to use things you already have. I used fresh garlic etc....as it would cost me more to buy more ingredients and I am sure Weezl wouldn't want that

The pasta funghi looks and sounds lovely! I will be trying that out for sure.

I was just wondering, when testing out the recipes would I have to follow them exactly because I often don't have the exact ingredients. Say for the pasta - would it be ok to use wholegrain instead of plain and fresh garlic instead of powder - that sort of thing. Was wondering if the whole point is to follow it how it is on the website exactly?
we would love to have all opinions nuala, without you having to spend more money! :):T:T:T

when are you thinking of doing it?

Oh goody!!! In that case I hope to be testing some recipes very soon - I already have a few dinners planned this week but will try to fit this weeks recipes in although I am a bit wary of the panzanella! :D

    :)

you're not the first to say that nuala so I googled to see if other recipes used tinned tomatoes in their panzanella or if it was just bonkers weezl!

it seems it's a pretty popular version of the recipe with some people finding the fresh tomato version too dry.

Hope that helps reassure everyone. Also Mr Weezl likes it and thinks that if you add fresh basil adding 2p more per person to the cost he described it as 'dinner party worthy!' :rotfl:

Ah Weezl it's a sign of how much faith we have in you that we are willing to try it!

What are people trying next and when - I will try to join in at the same time if I can.

    Hi Nuala

I am having the Panzanella tomorrow but I won't be using garlic as I don't like it. I leave it out of all the recipes.

I will cook the Shepherdless pie later this week but will substitute swede for the parsnips, as I have it in the freezer.

Yep, it's panzanella tomorrow, then some of us are doing shepherdess pie later on in the week (me on Thursday) and some of us calzone instead (Arty on Friday) - so feel free to chip in with whatever you like !

Oh, and a couple of people are running a bit later with it, so if you fancy the funghi, you can do it in the next half of this week along with Avocet !
