*sneaks in when shes meant to be studying*
Weezl, if I was very short of money and knew I was going to be for the considerable furture I could easily eat *just* cfr recipes, have a varied diet and enjoy the yummy food.:j However when I was younger we ate very traditional food and the same meals week in and out. When I went to university I found loads of new foods I had never even tried before (i.e I had never tried fish before) and I love love love experimenting (well getting mr arty too lol) and trying new things. That really is one of the biggest reasons I joined this project. So I would never just stick to the same food like I had to when I younger as I found it very limiting.
So It could be a case of people feeling like that OR it could be a case of having a fav meal i.e toad in the hole/curry that unless you were very poor you would not be prepared to give up on.
Or it could be that they dont like the porridge:p:p:cool::D
So I dont think its a critique per say, more an observation??

ok, so it seems that I feel a critique is being offered but you guys don't? Is that right?
Just summarising, as this helps my brain
I don't think it was a criticism, just an observation. Like we have said before, even if someone doesn't take on the whole plan it could save them hundreds, even thousands, of pounds. So if someone does 25 of the evening meals and subs in 5 more that is still a massive success. I mean they may go out for dinner one night, get a take-away for a birthday celebration, pick up something on offer... Life can get complicated sometimes and make it hard to say "I am in 100% and will not stray from the plan", some people might want to say that they will have some wiggle room to feel more confident!God is good, all the time

Susan, want to share? Finn LOVES courgettes these days.
weezl - I'm hopefully in for a chat. I've kept Skype closed on my computer lately just because it's too much to try and keep up with the conversations - sorry. Maybe once things have calmed down here a bit, I'll be able to be more chatty.
Am I going mad not finding the lentil pate recipe on CFR?!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

A few folk on MSE recently have said they couldn't only/just eat what's on the CFR site.
Can anyone help me to understand this more? We now have 100 recipes, although 7 are pretty much duplicates due to the two planner nature.
This seems quite a lot to me, and a good balance of breakfasts/lunches dinners etc...
I just wondered if anyone had insights about this- I have particular favourite recipes I wouldn't want to give up.
- I like to try out new and different things from time to time.
- I like to experiment.
- I often buy random things because of good offers (such as brie@£2.45/kg) which would not necessarily fit in with the recipes provided in a particular place.
- I would hate to be constrained to a meal plan defined by someone else.
- Even if you are exclusively following a plan or whatever, there are going to be times when you want to have an off plan luxury such as salmon pate or buttered croissants or strawberries and cream.

I wondered if it's something about the site because I've heard a lot of websites mentioned on MSE but never with that qualifier before so I always feel people are trying to tell me something?! does that make sense? I do agree with you all that there are lots of reasons that aren't about the site where people might not want to do it all, myself included as I love my nice coffee! And am not massively fussed on 5 a day if I have enough vits.
from the way it was worded I did feel there was a critique, which I wouldn't want to dismiss, but I do understand what you are all saying

Weezl, I think the site is fantastic and I'd be very surprised if others felt differently.
I agree with what Susan said above - I have a few favourites that I'd miss - some frugal, some not so frugal!:D And I guess my meal planning (such as it is) tends to be guided by whatever I can get cheaply in a given week - what's on special offer, whether I'm given leftovers to use up (my extended family throw out shocking amounts of good food so when I'm there, I take it!). So things like that would make it hard for me to follow the plan exactly.
But I do plan to try the recipes on it cos they look so good - and it's shown me what can be done by being organised. So I guess I would follow it but perhaps subsitute a little here and there.
I honestly think you and your team have done something incredibly helpful and there should be a link to it in every health centre in the country.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Hi how is everyone today? Just off of night shift and feeling more tired than usual and a bit "off" but had something to eat so hoping to perk up soon. Ready for the pasta tonight looking forward to it as we both love mushrooms. Ex is desperate to get tonight over with as he is wanting the risi-e-bisi again. We have it at least twice a month, same with the pizza. Will catch up with you later for our cooking0
