Would you be willing to try making a thicker sauce first with some of the olive liquid, taste and then depending on saltiness, please make up the rest of the liquid requirement with either more olive juice or just water if already too strong?
Yes, of course -- no problem.

Can I ask a favour though, that you could do a screen grab of the issue in omniweb?
I've taken a snapshot, but I can't see how to post it to the forum (the only image-posting facility I can find is for web links -- but please shout if I'm missing something obvious!). If you PM me your email address, and tell me what file format you prefer, I can email the image to you. It's a .png at the moment, but I'm sure I can change it to some other format if you don't fancy .png.

Morning, Weezlites, and welcome to Pasta Funghi day :D

A bit of a patchy start here for me - so far, I've only managed to cook the chickpeas, sterilise the jars, and pop a slowcooker-full of (off plan) runner beans on the go, as I also had to fit in the clearing out of the conservatory in preparation to the tiler's arrival. He's here now, so hopefully I can crack on once the dust has settled a bit....

    Bread next !

    Morning guys!!!!

    Day one of kitty-how exciting!!!!

Well I am having weetabix for brekkie and a ham salad sandwich for lunch so not very kitty like. Mr arty had porridge for brekkie and has taken a homemade cheese, tomato and basil filled roll so although not kitty very frugal!!! He also gets free chocolate/fresh fruit, soft drinks and tea and coffee at his office so that will dramatically reduce our bills-especially on the fresh fruit front.

We will both be having pasta funghi for dinner annnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddddd I have a new digital camera so am setting myself a side task to take photos of our main meals and try and make them as delish looking as Weezl does.

Hope everyone has lovely day and I look forward to hearing the reports on Kitty.

I was hoping to, yeah (I have soaked and boiled sufficient chickpeas at any rate), but will see how it goes - they can always be frozen for a later date if I run out of time/opportunity.

Hit a bit of a glitch with the five-loaf bread batch, I'm afraid :o Can you guess what it could possibly be.... ?

Yeah, I only have four loaf tins :rotfl: And my oven is too small to fit in more than four tins anyway.

So I'm afraid that I'm gonna have to go back to the recipe's roots and do the last fifth of the dough and doughnuts, rather than making a separate batch.... Shame, as I wanted to test out the timings of a big doughnut batch, but as I am really only cooking for two at the moment, it's probably more sensible to keep those low-key for now anyway....;)

good point about the 5 loafer batch.

what are you doing with the runner beans in the slo cooker Allegra? I have lots of lovely runners at the mo, any new ideas to use them gratefully received.

we are having garden salad tonight. Warm runner beans, red and green oakleaf lettuce, cherry tomatoes and cucumber, all from the garden, with some warm boiled pots, and some kind of protein, not sure what yet. I have some fresh fish in the fridge, so I'll prob have that. DP doesn't like fish, so he may have a couple of boiled eggs. All topped off with a mustardy vinaigrette

had some damsons in the feezer for a long time, so decided I must use them. Cooked them and pushed them through a sieve to get puree and added enough sugar so they don't make my lips pucker. The idea was to have the puree with greek yogourt, and it is indeed very lovely.

But what I have found is a half banana, some milk and a good splodge of puree is a fantastically tasty smoothie for breakfast - yum

On the very loooong drive down from Newcastle yesterday, I was musing on the garden. A friend has offered bramley apple thinnings as her tree has millions of apples on it and I am intending to make apple curd to freeze. The last one I made with baby apples was wonderfully sharp and tasty. Strangely, the toenail core on the baby apples is tougher and stays around, whereas on mature apples, it disappears overnight in the made up curd, so I'll have to sieve the bramley version. Was thinking tho, that now blackberries are beginning, a bramley and blackberry version would be very yummy, so that is now on my list to try. I'll let you know what it tastes like.

Good luck to the Kitty testers.

    hey lesley :)

hope you aren't too tired after your drive, that's a looooooooonnnnnnnnnnnng way!

chaps can I please ask for some feedback?

A few folk on MSE recently have said they couldn't only/just eat what's on the CFR site.

Can anyone help me to understand this more? We now have 100 recipes, although 7 are pretty much duplicates due to the two planner nature.

This seems quite a lot to me, and a good balance of breakfasts/lunches dinners etc...

I just wondered if anyone had insights about this :)
