Susan, everytime I've made it they seem to disappear when I use my stick blender. But I know others have reported the opposite, so not sure how helpful that is
.
I had to sieve the blended curd to get rid of them in the end - they did not blend at all well with my food processor. So bearing in mind Weezl and Aless had no problems, I guess the answer is to try it and see what happens !Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

arty - perhaps something like knowing which herbs/spices are more interchangeable so you can consolidate and/or replace to keep the seasonings cost down. Like a fancy recipe using cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon can prolly be consolidated to just cinnamon with possibly our infamous garam masala!Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Question for people who have made the apple curd. When you blended it up how well did the seeds disappear into the mixture? (I'm not making apple curd - just cooking, blending and freezing apples but it would save work and waste if I didn't have to core the apples as we have a veritable mountain.)
I've found that when using mature apples the 'toe nails' disappear overnight, but when I used baby apples, they stuck around, so like Allegra I had to sieve the mixture0 -
I'm not sure what article it might go into, but some tips on how to make some of these meals (esp christmas) in a small oven would be fab. I don't know if it's a trend elsewhere, but in all the flats I looked at before renting this one the landlords had provided a cooker and it was a small one. (that is to say only space for one shelf and the bottom of the oven which doesn't cook properly, not 3 shelves as is required by the christmas dinner planner)
several of them even had the ovens that need to leave the door open for the grill (mine included)
works arounds are possible, but make some recipies very daunting.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Hi - hope no-one minds me popping my head in but I'm normally over on the Old-style Board doing the monthly GC and someone posted the Link to weezl's recipes and then I found this and just wanted to say a huuuggge big thanks to weezl74 and everyone else who has tested and put a huge amount of time and effort into this.
I have made a note of a few recipes (will pop back when I have more time to note a few more) and will certainly be incorporating them into next weeks meal plan. The recipes look fantastic.
I'm hoping that this will help me keep costs down on the run up to Xmas so many thanks again.:D"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

I had a check Sian... doesn't mention anything bout anything really.
Odd
Cranberry and cashew nutroast verdict
Very nice:drool:
I only made half a recipe... but only because I have very little freezer space... but I did want to try and freeze some, just to see how it coped. So half a recipe it was.
Instead of a loaf tin, I cooked it in silicon muffin pan.
I got 4 out of it.
And cooked it for about 18mins, instead of the 25mins in the recipe. I possibly should have cooked it for the full time, as it was very crumbly, but the top was starting to brown then, and I didn't want it to burn.
It was not as sweet as I thought it would be with the cranberry's... but I think I should have added a wee bit more salt. Or maybe used salted cashews ? But maybe that would have been too salty.
I served it with some mashed potato, gravy, peas and broad beans - all out of the freezer
It is very filling.
I would definately make it again ... 7 out of 10 for me.
I will let you know how it freezes/cooks again, when I have it.0
