Ive logged into facebook today and have found that my ex's girlfriends profile pic is of her, my ex, MY kids and her kids with the title my little family!.
Im furious!!! I dont want my kids being plastered all over facebook for a start and the other thing is that my kids certainly arent HER family. He sees the kids as and when he can be bothered to make arrangements with my mum (he has had then for 1 weekend this year!) He doesnt live with his g/friend and only sees her once a month.
ETA: Should have read through fully before posting. Glad she removed it and I still don't think you were unreasonable.
Do you think I am being unreasonable if I asked her to remove the photo?

Hi Guys
Well I have finally finished my dissertation as some you know, so whilst job hunting I have more free time to dedicate to CFR. Before I had even put away my books (they are strewn all over my living room:o) Allegra has nabbed me to try and attempt to put together an article about frugalising recipes. Shes a hard task master is our Allegra:p;):rotfl:
So, as you all know I'm not the greatest of cooks, and have not been fruagalising recipes for that long so thought I would ask you guys how you approach making a recipe cheaper.....
Weezl posted this a while ago to get us started
''ok I'll start
for me the biggest breakthrough in frugalising recipes came with a greater sense of which are usually the pricy ingredients in a recipe and then having enough understanding of the chemistry of a recipe to frugalise them. So now I look at a crumble recipe, and know that the fruit and the butter are the two killers, so those are the ones I look to knock down.
I also found it very enlightening to look at the ingredients list on shop bought foods.
For example, by studying shp bought flapjack ingredients, I realised that oil is often used in place of most or all of the butter, which is a very helpful frugalisation.''
Thanks guys in advancexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:AIn art as in love, instinct is enough

Question for people who have made the apple curd. When you blended it up how well did the seeds disappear into the mixture? (I'm not making apple curd - just cooking, blending and freezing apples but it would save work and waste if I didn't have to core the apples as we have a veritable mountain.)Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Susan, everytime I've made it they seem to disappear when I use my stick blender. But I know others have reported the opposite, so not sure how helpful that is
.
arty - perhaps something like knowing which herbs/spices are more interchangeable so you can consolidate and/or replace to keep the seasonings cost down. Like a fancy recipe using cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon can prolly be consolidated to just cinnamon with possibly our infamous garam masala!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

I think if you wanted a thicker liqueur style drink, you would need to add some glycerin.. you would be able to get glycerin from chemists... this would also sweeten the drink, so add sparingly to taste
And maybe go easy on glycerin unless you want it to be a human pipe cleaner, lol, it is good for keeping things moving alongGod is good, all the time

I had to sieve the blended curd to get rid of them in the end - they did not blend at all well with my food processor. So bearing in mind Weezl and Aless had no problems, I guess the answer is to try it and see what happens !0 -
Hello everyone
Sorry haven't got back to you all since Sunday, have still been combing the thread for tips that might be useful for the "non standard situations" article, but am a bit worried that there might be some crossover with PinkHayley's "alternatives" article so could do with a bit of guidance on this before I start putting it all together.
Hope you don't think I'm nagging, I know there's loads going on with all the testing and the Crimbo planner (not to mention everyone has real life to be getting on with too!) just don't want to appear like I've come into this out of nowhere, promised the earth and am now abandoning you!
Also thought I should introduce myself a bit better than I did on Sun - I'm Grace (to make things easier on here you can just call me Venus tho, but I don't mind either way), I'm 24, sort-of live with my sort-of OH (don't ask) and our bulldog-boxer cross, Winston. I work 9-5 in a Call Centre for the NHS and am too skint to have the social life I'd like, but it does give me plenty of time for stuff like this. :rotfl:
Am also intending on joining in with the testing soon (mainly the sweet recipes I think - scones, brownies, apple curd - not ready to tackle my veg phobia just yet... but maybe soon!), either this weekend or sometime next week - am a bit cash poor at the mo so might not be able to buy any ingreds I don't have until Monday when I'm solvent again.:j
So sorry to have rambled yet again, but just wanted to let you know I'm still here and still working on the article, just need to know exactly what I should be including in it so as not to step on anyone's toes!
Thanks guys

Hi Venus, nice of you to come and introduce yourself. Dont worry about not having things asap, all of us have busy busy lives and I think our little project has a great deal of flexibility because of this. Personally I would just include whatever you wanted and then maybe send a copy round and see what people think should stay in or out?
Hope that helps but Hayles or Allegra might clarify a little bit morexxxIn art as in love, instinct is enough
