Jellie wobbles into her MFW journey

hi themull
Jellie was talking about getting a cleaner due to the hours she works and for the sake of her health. I work full time and have a cleaner for the sake of everyone in the house's health and sanity. We do not have satellite TV or go out to the pub drinking or many of the other things people do for entertainment... We each look after our needs in different ways. Having a cleaner may be right for some and not for others...
Good luck on your journey and finding your own path through to financial freedomAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks for that post Saving! I think the fact that I can get so little done this weekend is showing we really should get a cleaner! It wouldn't be so bad but OH starts doing a part time law course soon on top of his full time job!
Have managed to batch cook some chicken and chorizo to freeze which was prompted by your chicken and paprika suggestion. Haven't the energy to try one of your other recipes as well but i'll have a try next weekend! At least now we have a bit of the selection in the freezer to take the pressure off in the week!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Glad the batch cooking is going well
BigZippy had a very mse wedding - you could approach her for ideas....
I am making veg soup at the mo which I am hoping might turn into lunches for me and OH this week or at least a healthy snack!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'm going to batch cook up some sausage casserole tonight! Plus lots of work to do!
Have decided my first target regarding trying to save more money. I'm not buying any new clothes until the wedding unless I need to replace something essential. Will try and buy only from charity shops with a maximum £100 spend over the 10 months (which will mainly be sewing related purchases!). will check my budget later to see how much that should save me!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

Batch cooking done- just need to portion it out!
Clothing challenge is similar to what I did as a dfw. I really have enough clothes and just need to keep that in mind. Just because I have more cash now doesn't mean what I want as a treat equates to a need! In the long term I will be much happier with the mortgage paid off so I can go part time. My health is more important than the clothes!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
I think if you keep as a goal clearly stated that should work:
spending less on clothes now means spending less time in work later - win winAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Good idea- will have to write that out and put it in my purse!
Another day- need to think if there are any other areas I can tackle!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Target area today is groceries and eating out. We've started getting back on track already but I wanted to get my intentions down in here. So here is the plan!
1. Stop our Tuesday night cheap pizza delivery deal and go back to making our own. To make this convenient OH has made and frozen pizza bases and sauce. We have the toppings frozen too. Now we just need to replenish stocks whenever they run low.
2. Cut eating out bill. Although we still plan to eat out fairly regularly we are now going to places which are cheap or where we can get a special deal.
3. Regularly bulk buy meat, fish, staples etc from Makro.
4. Batch cook every weekend so we have plenty of choice of home made convenience foods in freezer.
5. Do everything we can to reduce food waste by being more resourceful, keeping an eye on what needs using up and specifically buying food for planned meals in the amounts we need.
I think that covers everything. If you have any other ideas please chip in!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
