Thanks saving and mummyofone!
I've got a tunic to finish today- it won't be quite as good as I actually started sewing that first and didn't finish the edges so well plus I'm making up some alterations.
I also have easy patterns for a dress and top. The idea is to try all 4 patterns out and make them up in more than one material so I can hopefully improve as I practice! Not sure which I'll do next!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
sounds good - good luck with it... Perhaps when you've mastered it you can make money from it?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Saving.
I've been spending too much recently so I really need to sort myself out and get back on track. Am starting by trying to cut down on treats and food spending again. Part of it is being more organized now we're back at work and planning food rather than resorting to takeaways. The plan is to spend some time every weekend cooking up some meals to freeze. Last weekend we made spag boll and enchiladas. This weekend I'm thinking pizza bases and maybe some chicken based meals. Any ideas of chicken based meals I can cook up and freeze?2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

Any ideas of chicken based meals I can cook up and freeze?
Ideas
Chicken korma and rice - Take one lloyds grossman korma jar or sharwoods and one portion of around 400g of diced chicken and half a mug of rice... Cook as normal. That should be enough for 4 x 440 calorie portions... Then just freeze
Could do chicken in sweet and sour sauce as per above LOL
Could do chicken fried rice- Cook half a mug of rice in boiling water (chill with cold water and put to one side) - salt to taste
- 400g chicken - cook separately and put to one side
- perhaps an onion or spring onion, mushroom (handful of frozen mixed peppers) and put to one side
- sprinkle on some sesame seeds
- When rice and chicken are ready, mix all the ingredients back together using some oil and soy sauce and possible lemon juice to suit...
- add portion of peas to suit and portion of sweetcorn (I normally use a smart price tin)
Could do chicken in chinese spices or paprika and cook with peppers, onions and mushrooms....
chicken stir fry
350g chicken £3
350g Water chestnut, bamboo shoot stir fry 98p with Chinese leaf, red onion and peppers
100g frozen mushrooms
100g frozen mixed peppers
4 spring onions
2 teaspoons cornflower
1 pint of veg stock
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
4 teaspoons of sesame oil (I accidentally did 4 tablespoons!!)
4 teaspoons olive oil (I accidentally did 4 tablespoons!!)
10cm spurt of garlic puree
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
Instructions
Mix the beef, olive oil, ginger and garlic together in a wok – and heat for 4-6 minutes
Prepare the corn flower, sesame oil, veg stock, soy sauce together in a jug
Mix in the water chestnut mix once the beef is fully cooked and then add mushrooms and peppers. (I drained the mix before adding the oil)
Then pour on the oil mix and allow to thicken before serving! (If you want you could pre-steam the veg)
You could serve with 44g of brown rice per person!
Good luck!:DAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
