Seem to have been fighting a cold since starting back at work and my medical condition keeps flaring up. Have some work and stuff that needs doing this weekend but apart from that I'll try and take it easy.
I need to keep reminding myself that once the mortgage is paid off I can go part time- hopefully that will help with my health!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Went shopping today and am all set for a big cooking day tomorrow!
Got some work done but still a fair bit to get through tomorrow. Am also hoping for better weather as I need to do some gardening.
Hopefully will feel a bit better and get it all done!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
hi jellie - how much does your OH help with cooking and gardening etc? (a thought going round in my life for my OH too!!:o). have you thought any more about getting a cleaner... Mine hasn't been for 2 weeks now and I can really tell!!:eek:At least it is a prompt once a week to make it look reasonable before she comes (don't worry we still leave plenty for her to do)!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

OH is really not a gardener- partly down to hay fever! He's always been up front about this and is more than happy for us to have a gardener. At the moment we get the gardener in once in a while to do specific jobs and I muddle through in between- the garden is pretty big for me to tackle alone!
His help with cooking varies. He has been a godsend when I'm struggling with my health and will often sort out dinner. However he seems to have lost his inspiration a little and falls back on fishcakes, chicken kievs etc. Although there are worse things to eat they cost more! It is also difficult for him that my diet can be a bit restrictive- in particular in the spices department. Otherwise he would be cooking chilling etc.
He is pizza king and is in charge of making the bases today. He is also very good at sorting out bread when he is in the habit! I'm glad you wrote this as I need to make this a real joint effort today!
We got the number of the cleaner for next door- she does lots of local houses and seems trusted! just need to call her!
I was prompted by your diary to search out memory girl and am now feeling very inspired by you both. Head is buzzing with ideas so I haven't got back to sleep as planned. Might need a snooze later but for now I think I will get started on the days work!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Is it a new fashion to get a cleaner these days? i work full time, got two kids and do the cleaning myself!! Unfortunately i'm not rich enough to warrant getting one, it must be nice tho!! Jellie - i got my entire wedding off ebay, mostly second hand!! dress, tiara, fake flowers, bridesmaids dresses, place cards, grooms outfit, mother of bride outfit, shoes etc, it was excellent, then i sold it all again afterwards. I kept my tiara, and garter, thats it.!!0

Themull1- believe me I really don't want to get a cleaner and feel like I should do it myself. However my circumstances are such that it will probably be money well spent!
Thanks for the wedding inspiration. I'm doing my best to keep the budget down! Must remember to ebay it all afterwards though!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
You sound very productive Jellie with your sewing, gardening and cooking. I am just up! I couldnt believe the time when I looked at the clock. OH is away golfing and I never even heard him going!
Don't feel bad getting a cleaner, I've had one before but sadly she is retired now and she was a godsend. I get myself stressed out when I know I have got so much to do especially at the w/e on days off so really need to try and get more organised..............one day!
Hope you are feeling ok though Jellie and don't you be overdoing it hun.0 -
Primula- unfortunately the productiveness has remained in my head! Got up to make a start and felt too ill so am just resting and thinking how to manage!
OH has started pizza bases and will plant out the seedling for me if I want. Am concentrating on getting washing done- rest of housework might have to wait. Have decided a bit of dust is not worth feeling stressed over!
Can't manage work yet and I might just have to cope with doing more marking later in the week and having done less planning for tomorrow.
Have basically decided it is more important to feel well enough for work during the week and if that means a day kicking back then so be it!
Will give me time to catch up on here and try and firm up some ofmy financial goals for this year!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Have managed 2 15 min flying sessions so shower room is clean and our Hoover is happily hoovering upstairs! I'm ready for a sleep now! Since I'm only doing essentials today hopefully a few quick flying sessions should get me through!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

Right- depressing news! Have just worked out a full budget for the wedding and honeymoon next year. I've worked out the maximum we think we'll spend in each category as the most important thing is that we don't end up in debt from unforeseen spending. It works out at £10 000 _pale_
I'm hoping to cut this as much as possible but worst case scenario is therefore saving £1000 a month. This is basically what we were planning to put aside for mortgage if possible! Might mean MF date could be delayed by a year. However I am going to do all I can to come in under budget and see if we can get some mortgage money put aside too!
Main aims are to set aside £1000 each month for wedding. To have a look at budget and see if there is anything else we can cut back to save more to go to mortgage. To think of any ways to increase money coming in by ebaying etc.
First step is to get a grip on current joint spending by going back to using a spending diary. Then a close look at the budget to see if there are more savings to be made without life becoming miserable!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0
