I completely understand what you are saying and I appreciate the OP has said they made a simple mistake, but, all I am saying is we don't have both sides of the story. Surely you agree that you have to hear both sides of the story before making any comment?trisontana wrote: »And what's with all this "must display the blue badge" malarkey? You have been told countless times that blue badges do not apply in private car-parks. Can't you understand that fact?
I hear what you are saying, but, if you don't put a blue badge when you are parking in these bays then you will have a lot of hassle on your hands. If its genuine, then when why create extra hassle for yourself by not displaying a badge? If you don't want the hassle, then you 'must' display the badge...

Well thats surely good news then, they obviously want to make sure they do the right thing and are not above correcting themselves if they make a mistake.
Sadly they only partially corrected it and have still left information that is wrong.
So in a way you are agreeing with me that you should be careful with what you read on the internet as it might be misleading.
Excellent, thanks for that.

I don't believe everything I read whether it is on the internet or not.
Not sure what your point is to be honest.
Apart from your attempts to mislead on here I haven't seen any other misleading posts.
Methinks Colbcris may have hit the nail on the head.:D0 -

Wrong again.
You don't need a badge to park in one of these spaces. So no need to display something that is not required.
There is no "must" about it
Meant to ask - which PPC do you work for?0 -
But that "hassle" is completely unnecessary. If you are disabled and do not have a blue badge then the parking company and the landowner are breaking the DDA by demanding money from you. Why should the driver be punished if the PPC breaks the law?
Regarding the case of the driver forgetting to display their badge. He has now heeded our advice and is ignoring all demands for money off the PPC. I repeat again SHAME on mobilise for associating themselves with UKCPS.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Rubbish. Pure poppycock.
And deliberately so in my opinion.
Blue Badges can not be mandated by private companies.
Nor can they be relied upon as causative by private companies as that would put them in breach of the DDA.

No one has the right to hassle anyone, especially when the hassle is unjustified from a legal perspective. I appreciate it is 'easier' to display a badge, but you are not obliged to. It's not a case of "you have nothing to complain about, you didn't display a badge", it's a case of why the hell does a poxy private company running a scam think it can threaten people through the mail. Two years ago I challanged a 'PEO' because he had parked in a disabled bay when there was clearly other spaces available. His arrogant answer was we are allowed to park where we want. As I wasn't really happy with his answer I took a picture of his car in a bay and he kindly responded ny issuing me with a ticket even though I was in my car, in the car park. I'll save you all the details save to say I ended up getting the ticket revoked and he actually ended up getting a PCN. Which he had to pay. That was a good result.
This happened in Lockmeadow carpark in Maidstone. This appeal was heard by the issuing company and I was given a very fair hearing. If you have been unfairly treated then you should expect to be let off. Like I was.
You're participating in a make-believe process. Jumping through hoops and giving credence to what is a kangaroo court.
All the way through this thread you have been muddying the moral and the legal. The legal facts are clear. Moral opinions are irrelevant, whether you like it or not.0 -

Actually it turns out that the car-park where the successful appeal was made is owned by the council. If had been a PPC that would have been a different story. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

So pay close attention to the direct gov website below - end of discussion really as the government clearly shows where the blue badge scheme operates - next question ?
About the scheme
The Blue Badge Scheme only applies to on-street parking.
Where the scheme does not apply
The Blue Badge Scheme does not apply to off-street car parks, private roads and at most airports.
You can find airport plans showing the location of parking spaces for disabled people on the Blue Badge map.
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPeople/MotoringAndTransport/Bluebadgescheme/DG_4001061Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
