Welcome sunshineyday
you'll fit right in here. I've been here since it began around Christmas time. I've barely bought anything and am finally getting towards the end of my stuff. Unfortunately I had been doing this for a loooooooong time before this thread started- oops!
You will find that you start looking at the lists of lovely products owned by other people and thinking you'd like to try them. Hopefully you'll hang fire until you've got towards the end though.
19 pages eh? That's phenomenalget your list up here so we can all drool in envy then!
Any idea how you are going to tackle it? Will you have 1 of each product out at a time, focusing on UU the nearly empties and opened ones first? It does give a bit of a boost to do it that way.
I for one was very surprised at how long stuff actually lasts. It had become a habit for me to just go and bulk buy £20 or whatever the offer was of shampoo/ shower gel/ bubble bath. This resulted in a mahoosive stash. I will probably only need to buy one of each product per month if I start buying sensibly. That will be my aim. Then I can finally get rid of the storage basket which currently resides in my bathroom. I might eventually create enough space for a shower too!
Good luck, we'll cheer you on and give you lines if you slip up......Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Rosemary54, how about returning the red sandals then? You could put it towards paying off that massive credit card bill?
Bronnie and I initially met on the great wardrobe declutter thread last year. Bronnie made lots of money (IIRC) selling her used clothes on ebay. Is that something that you think you could do?
I decluttered my wardrobe ruthlessly and am now the proud owner of not many clothes but those I do have, I wear regularly. I'm also able to now buy nice designer brands (from ebay or the sales but I don't let on!) because I know exactly what I want, what needs replacing and where to get it from. I don't have wardrobes crammed full either.
This makes me sound like some sort of gorgous diva doesn't it? Truth be told, I just wanted to become more yummy mummy than slummy mummyMany of my clothes are old but wearing well because I take good care of them. I do need some more jeans now though because mine are getting really saggy.
I also find I consider my purchases because what I do buy has to be multi purpose and last well. This saw me taking a long long time to buy a pair of sandals this year. Eventually I paid £34 but I know they will do a few years. They are dead comfy and I've worn them to death already! I bought brown because they will go with all of my clothes. I was tempted by red but it wouldn't go with everything and I avoid black sandals because they wouldn't go with my bright summery dresses so would just become evening shoes. I already have black evening shoes so don't need more.
We just had our wardrobes fitted and I counted that I own 8 pairs of shoes boots etc and 1 pair slippers.
Totally OT, I know sorry!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
hi everyone
a UU here, Nivea Soft moisturiser - only a 8ml freebie but it was ok WIBA? not sure it didn't irritate my eczema and lingered after at least one hand wash but i'm not sure about the smell. Anyway i don't need anymore yet as i have lots of bottle of such stuff in my stash.
am i sad that i'm sad that this wasn't on my stash list (because it was at work) and i can't mark anything off the list yet?0 -
Hi ladies. Am still around and still working my way though my stash.
Have a few UUs to report although technically with the exception of the Soap and Glory Righteous Butter they were all finished at the end of July.
Elemis Cleanser (the green one for Normal/Combination skin) - WIBA? Have already. Do like it but am still looking for HG cleanser that replicates LE's C&P. Have a bottle of C&P on the go at the mo. In my stockpile now I have another 100ml of C&P, Decleor cleanser, S&G hot cloth cleanser and this Elemis one. MUST NOT BUY MORE. MUST NOT BUY MORE - just doing the lines ladies!
Soap & Glory spa Sugar Scrub - WIBA? Definitely. This is my HG scrub. Think I have another in the stockpile but at the mo am using up a travel size of the S&G Flake Away which is just as good but not as zesty as the Spa one.
Original Source Lemon shower gel. WIBA? Not sure. I do really think that you get what you pay for with shower gels and I find other brands have a longer lasting fragrance than this one but for a zingy citrussy one it did the trick.
S&G Righteous body butter. WIBA? Probably. I like it but do like TBS ones more and have three TBS ones in my stockpile so unless I want a travel sized pot of this for my hols I won't be buying for a while.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I have such a problem with shoes so I get them when I can!(large wide feet, lymphodema and a big toe that has had surgery!
sandals are usually okay but proper shoes are a nightmare:(:(:(
Did look at selling on ebay but prices for the stuff I have are so low that did not seem worth it(plus lots did not sell at all)
anyway the charity shops will benefit:)
am writing down all I spend this month.already too high after £45 for a filling and £50 for petrol!!!0 -

Welcome everyone new !!
I think I have to have a serious look at all my clothes - I seem to have millions that I just dont wear - and I had a massive declutter a few months ago,and gave 4 BIG bags to the local sue ryder shop... but there are still loads!!!!
I tried putting them on ebay - but didnt even get a watcher - that could be because I was selling in a big load though,so that made the postage quite a lot??
could do with the cash though, ooooh - now Im getting excited about this !!!
Only two use ups to report - Dove shower gel (the blue one, supposedly moisturising). got it sent to triall before Christmas, did the trial and put it to the back of the bath. WI(have as a freebee)A ??? No.It smelt the same (though less strong) as that horrible lilac bottle of dove shower gel (that some of you might remember me talking abotu!) I think I just really dont like dove anything other than the bars of soap and deodorants...
and my Benefit Dear John moisturiser (sob!!) finally bit the dust yesterday. WIBA? oh yes - i nearly fainted when I paid for it,but that was back in March (i think!!) and its lasted AGES !!! Not right now though - got more important things to save up for,so have bought one of the cheap ones from Tesco ( its cheap anyway, and it was reduced to £1 !!) to tide me over.
think my s&g cellulite stuff is spluttering too - hopefullly if i remember to put it on,that will go over the weekend too.
keep it up everyone !!!Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
Used up a face mask tonight on myself, DD and DS. WIBA? No, DD got it in a party bag. But at least we'll have lovely skin
In other news......... What have I started? Everyone is going to be checking out their wardrobes now!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
