  • Hi everyone - can I come back please? Need to stop drinking and sort myself out cos I start a fab new job in 3 weeks so now's the time to have a fresh start. Yesterday I did not drink and feel great this morning so that's Day 1 ticked off. I know I can do this cos I've done it before and really want to give up for good this time. Lovely to see everyone again on here. I've got a lot of catching up to do - will go back and read from the start of this latest thread over the weekend. Shaggy - I see you're keeping score this month - can you put me down for 29 please?
Sober October = 0 alcohol free days
Weight lost so far = 0lb
No spend days so far = 0
  • Anyone else notice how when you're not drinking your posts are really positive, whereas when you have been drinking they are kind of dour? I think this probably tells me something I need to take in rapid.

I am off today which is just as well as I have had 2 on top of the ones I had last night, I just got the notion last night, to make matters worse I decided to get a half bottle in the supermarket yesterday but no half bottle available, so intead of going somewhere else I got a bottle. I am pure fed up with this.

How DO you deal with it when you get the notion, and the idea is in your head? Cos I can't seem to stop myself.....

I am a bit skint now nothing major, and working the weekend so hopefully AF then.

    Hope everyone is OK

How true that is, i find if I don't drink I feel ten times better in the morning even if I have had hardly any sleep....

    Morning all :D

1 for me please Shaggy :D

I don't feel much better for it though :undecided

Got a busy day today, kids are back to school so it's all back to normal at work. My kids don't go back till Monday so at least it's an easy morning for me, not having to rush around with packed lunches and childminder runs!

Mookie, lovely to have you back, seems all the 'oldies' are coming back :D

Right, better get a shufty on, chow for now

SSG As usual, I am the last person to offer advice but that is exactly how I feel each day. Mostly I give in and buy booze But I am finding that since joining this forum I can fight my way through the feeling more and more. In my case it works by telling anyone who will listen that I will be af today and finding a diversion, anything will do. I tend to read books - 100's of them but anything to occupy the booze addled brain. It usually affects me most in the afternoon/early evening. TV sometimes helps (yesterday. Dave, not mainstream channels). Please try hard and please, please don't drink in the morning again.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
