is it just me or are Mr T's "whoopsies" going up in price? ...

Depends what time you catch them, Nargle.

Like today, after the car boot visit, we popped to Mr S to get our vast supply of M*ller Light yoghurts as the offer of 4 for £1 ends Tuesday and fancied getting some Skinny Cow Triple Choc Ice Cream Sticks but Mr S did not have any. So, as we had to pass Mr T on the way home, we looked in there for some. Now I can't go into any supermarket without checking their whoopsies and luckily the girl came up, just as we were looking, to second reduce them - to cut a long story short, I paid £36.13 for shopping that should have cost £123.34 making a saving of £87.21!!!! Adding that to the £28.25 I saved in Mr S, mainly on the yoghurts, it made a saving of £113.37  :j :j:j

When we got home I had to start defrosting my big freezer and then rearranging everything to get it all in, and rearrange the freezer part of fridge-freezer too to fit in the rest. So I have now got salmon steaks, tuna steaks, other fish, chicken breasts, turkey breast steaks, minced beef, prawns, salmon quiches, together with plenty of cooked meats, loads of wholemeal bread, and lots of cakes (Sshhhhh!!!!) as well as my yoghurt and Skinny cow lollies, which by the way were on special offer at Mr T for £1 per box of 3 instead of £1.78, and I should not need to shop for anything other than fresh fruit and veg for quite some time !!!!! :j:j:j:j

In other words, it was not an NSD for me, but then again, Sunday never is

    Well done 3Dogs!

I had two full-to-bursting carrier bags of mainly fresh fruit n veg from Mr A the other day for £4.02, I really got lucky there! There were crusty posh bread rolls for 5p and best quality garden peas for 10p. The 20p bag of 7 apples was another highlight. It pays to know your marking down times!
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

And it also helps when you know/work with the people doing them ;)

They can't mark them any lower for me than they would for anyone else, but they can/will do them in a different order so I get what I want and get out of the store quicker than I may otherwise have done :D

Anyone know when the mark downs at Asda Slough usually are? I always seem to miss them - though if there are some I have to be minful I'm buying stuff i will actually use and won't sit in the freezer for years...

Well it looks like NSD #4 for me today - not counting my chickens yet but i've resisted the lure of internet shopping thus far. Did purchase OH a new football top today at his request but he paid for that (just wanted me to do the purchase as I'm better at things like that :rotfl:) - not that the footie season has got off to a great start thus far - out of the CL league already (10 points to the person who can guess the team :))

Also had to get bread up the shop for sarnies but that came out of the change pot too so got away with that one.

Your night out sounded fantastic last night!! Really made me smile. I was with you in spirit - I can read your posts on my phone but not reply, and I had a few ciders as a treat. I'm sure me and not-so-DH could have really chavved it up for you and staged a full on slanging match in the middle of the street, complete with bin bags of clothes out of the windows!!

Small spend day for me today, just a few groceries and a couple of birthday cards. Been to my dads for little sisters birthday tea - there is no way my baby sister can be 16 already is there?!?! Still a bit frosty on the home front so was good to get out and catch up with my family. I wish I hadn't married a man who can sulk for over a week!!
Trying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon ....
