Hi all, reporting late that yesterday was nsd 5 so nearly on target but today is unlikely to be as the cow is dry. someone told me you can freeze milk. If that is true I could buy extra when I shop and then aspend day could be avoided. strokes chin and shambles off muttering about freezing a cow........

Yes, you can freeze milk - though remember to plan when you are going to need it as it takes a while to drefrost properly. You can also freeze cheese too.

    Morning all.

Sorry not been about much but had the week off with the little loos and Mr Looloo. Had quite a few spend days (including a ridculous amount at the vets!) I can add two more days now to my NSD's though.

Today is a spend day but I am hoping that for the rest of the week I can keep everything down - I will also get diesel for the week on the way home so that should do me!

I'll try and catch up with everyone's news at some point

Spoon, no MIL isnt allowed to have anything, everything has the potential to have germs that could make her worse. When we visit we have to use gel to hand wash, put gloves on and then an apron but we are not allowed to touch her so no cuddles or kisses. When she needs the loo shes not even allowed to clean herself, it has to be done by a nurse with a special bodywash.... shes almost 75 and being washed intimately by female and male nurses, she feels embarrassed.

JintyB, thanks for you kind wishes, im sure if i had to spend so much time doing nothing, i would be climbing the walls and then being carried off by the men in white coats!!!

After reading this, I promise I'll never complain about being bored again! At least virtual get well wishes dont have germs! ;)

Just back from shops - eventful to say the least. Managed to get a couple of things on my list from the whoops shelf but when I got out of the shop & checked receipt they had charged me full price. They are always doing that in our Mr A, you've got to watch them like a hawk! So back I went, got the difference back plus they put £4 on my savings card. Very pleased with that! :)
Got cat food, but I had vouchers for that so all in all a lowish spend day today.
A bit rainy here today so Im going to nip out with His Majesty while it's dry and then a bit of knitting I think! Chilli is simmering away and smells delish, I feel very domestic godess today:rotfl:

you will always be rich enough to be generous.

Karen, poor MIL, don't know what to say apart from - that must be dreadful for her and awful for you to have to watch. I'm so sorrry.

Hope that, now MRSA has been diagnosed, she can start fighting the infection and make a recovery.

((((hugs)))) to you and your family

Yes, you can freeze milk (all types, including skimmed), I've been doing it for ages.

As Kerri says, cheese also freezes well and seems to go further when grated afterwards - no idea why though...

Not doing aswell as hoped, hospital car park fees... say no more  MIL is still in isolation with MRSA and today we were told she has to spend at least another 5 weeks in isolation. No clothes only a hospital gown, no mags or newspapers, sweet, biscuits or chocs, no flowers and no grandchildren. I think I would end up in the looney bin if I had to spend so much time alone with nothing to do but look out of a window.
Oh lordy; you don't think of the implications do you :o Thankfully I've no personal experience of this awful disease & I didn't know the restrictions, particularly for personal care _pale_ I suppose the books & things makes sense though, as paper in particular is a BIG carrier of bugs & things....wish MIL well for me please?
I would say that, providing you don't spend on anything else, you discount the parking fees as this is totally out of your control. My personal ruling for this challenge is that 'emergency' expenses cannot be planned for so prescriptions, dental treatment, car breakdown..as long as I don't buy a newspaper while I'm waiting for my puncture to be repaired or flea treatment at the vet's, it's still an nsd. It works on lots of levels as I have to find the money for the 'emergency'--either on the spot or later when I get the bill--& stops me buying for the sake of buying. Like I said before, it works for me.
