I was wrong - this post has not died a natural death, it continues to live on, Zombie like stumbling around to no useful purpose.
Hope 2011 is good to you all.
It's not going to die a natural death whilst there are posters who feel it's acceptable to be rude and offensive towards others. If they stopped doing this, then there'd be no need for others to respond.
Thank you for your good wishes and a Happy New Year to you too!:)

So, if I am to accept what you say, "we're paying for you", then I assume you are a tax payer, as I am. By the same token, I am paying for any benefits you or your daughter receive. The difference between us being that I don't begrudge it!
Nobody condones people "swinging the lead", but your post implies that my husband is one of those and, therefore, not what you would consider one of the "REAL disabled people".
That is so offensive, but you know what? I feel sorry for you. You appear to have a chip on your shoulder the size of Everest, and until you walk a mile in my shoes, or those of anyone else who posts on this board, you are in no position to judge.
Of course, if you weren't implying that my husband is "swinging the lead", and I have misinterpreted your post, I apologise - as I hope you will do if you were implying that - though I won't hold my breath!
I wish you and your daughter a Happy and Healthy New Year.
xx
Your quite right Sandra , i was not inplying your husband is not disabled ,i dont even know you.
Disabled people in general is what i meant ,you know the ones who claim they are more disabled than they are just to get a new car.
Yes my daughter gets DLA high rate and mobility ,but you see i and parents of children or adults like my daughter are saving the country millions ,by caring 24/7.
Happy new year to you too.Mum/carer to Dallas who has Aicardi Syndrome, everyday i look at you makes my life fulfilled.0 -

You're not paying for me, I claim no benefits but I'm still disabled. My husband pays for me with his 60 hour shifts and rarely seeing our children, my twelve year old pays with her time spent as my unpaid carer.
This thread has become very negative and hurtful. I'm saddened to see people like this.
Just to add a little light, today a lovely elderly couple sat and held their disabled bay for me as we went round the car park to turn round, because it saddened them that someone so young with children needed to have a badge. It's nice when people don't judge and just care...0 -
Watt used to post on another forum I post on. Her posts basically came across as "no-one else has a disability but my daughter". She accused me of lying about my disabilities (funny how 3 GPs, 1 physiotherapist and 1 neurologist agree with me!) based on the fact that someone with a different disability (she's blind due to medication. I'm partially sighted due to a genetic disease) said she can't understand why I have the problems I do.
SH ,SOFIE on different forum .I understand your so called problems cos your always harping on about them.I dont make things up you give people information and when your caught out you dont like it.
You constantly lie ,remember when Tammy caught you out ?
I cant be doing with people that will exagerate their problems.
Have you no respect for yourself :mad:Mum/carer to Dallas who has Aicardi Syndrome, everyday i look at you makes my life fulfilled.0 -

I've NEVER lied about my problems. You haven't got the first clue about my problems. As for Tammy catching me out - what on earth are you on about? Oh my goodness, my husband has just qualified for a B/B which he only received a week ago, due to the Xmas break he hasn't had much chance to use it yet. Reading this thread it makes me wonder if he's going to be safe using it at all! Finally mortgage and debt free but still skint0

Honestly, we don't ask. Look at the forums here talking about the stories of people being put through hell to claim benefits etc. It seems that claims and help are only offered to people who are a lot worse off, or really good at pretending, I struggle, but I'd rather not feel like I have to be at my worst to pass a test to prove how ill I am. We just prefer to muddle on and I keep fighting and hoping that one day a miracle will make me better. Probably sounds very stupid, but I've spent years fighting to get the doctors to tell me why I'm so ill, I'm out of fight now.0 -

As I did, caring for my mother for decades, 24/7, and now doing the same for my husband. But I don't mind, and I'm not resentful, because I loved my Mother, I love my husband, and, at the moment, I can manage.
It was a bigger struggle when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, and I had to continue giving care to others, whilst having treatment.
But God makes the back to bear the burden, and somehow you find a way to get through it all.
