Are you my doctor / neurologist now? Last time I checked, you don't have the faintest clue about my disabilities. Or are you aware of the damage I've done to my upper limbs now?

Anger? A ridiculous and stupid statement!

Yet again, raise a point of view and a persons inability to read and assimilate what's is said is then denigrated into a persons daily struggle. Something we all have in one way or another each day. You clearly don't get it!!

I get it, you've been harping about it ever since you joined this site, infact the first ever thread you started was just as ignorant and judgemental, just because im calling you up on your opinions means I cant read now?! Your like a broken record, I get exactly what your saying I just dont agree with it, you dont offer any help or advice you just vent your anger at the rest of the world even when people try to put their point across and reason with you and others its still comes back to the same old argument so like someone above said, this thread has come to the end of its life, somewhat spoilt yet again but the same old same old.

Wattsdallas you clearly have alot to learn dont you love, go do some reading or something.

I dont think as myself to be disabled because im not,too many people claim they are to get extra money and bb.

In YOUR opinion, and the last time I checked, your opinion wasn't the law

In the eyes of a law a disability is defined as

"'A physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on a person's ability to carry out day-to-day activities.' "

So, sorry, just because you have a hang up about who you think is or isn't disabled, makes no difference to the real world

And wattdallas isn't medically trained to know these things either.

Correct, some people on this thread just dont get it!

"carry out day to day activities" hense qualifying for a BB for various reasons, hense a BB being isssued to not just those in wheelchairs, pfft we could go on about it all day but some are unwilling to listen to the facts.

This thread really has come to an end. Oh and Dan hope your glandular fever clears up before the babys here pfft.
Mum/carer to Dallas who has Aicardi Syndrome, everyday i look at you makes my life fulfilled.
  • It appears to me that there are only 3 opinions that should count and they belong to Brassedoff, wattdallas and pwales. If anyone disagrees with them they are branded as ignorant, stupid and unable to "get it". These 3 posters feel it is perfectly acceptable to be insulting and rude, but nobody else should even politely disagree with them.

Worse still, anyone elses problems pale into insignificance by comparison, and BBs, though issued, shouldn't be used in case they should require the spaces.

Efforts to explain our, or a family member's disabilities, and necessities for a BB space, are shushed away, and people end up trying to justify their useage of BBs. There is absolutely no need to do so. There are none as deaf as those who don't wish to hear.

Everybody is annoyed, and rightly so, when they see a BB space used by somebody not displaying a badge, but we have no right to judge a person's need, or otherwise, because they "look" OK.

Tomorrow, I shall drive my husband shopping, in our new car, courtesy of Motability, park in a BB space, and if he has a problem getting out and stays there, or wishes to return to the car before me, that is absolutely fine. :) I wish all posters a Happy New Year.

    xx

Would u like to expand on that?

It says alot about someone when they decide to trawl through someones post history to try and dig some 'dirt' up on them, feel free to have a more in depth read next time as there is no dirt to be found to try and 'catch me out' if you read my posts you would also know ive been diagnosed with M.E by one of the leader professors in the illness and he supported my claim for DLA as did my doctor and was awarded HRM and LRC. The doctor I saw the other day is newly qualified and not one ive seen often in the few months he has been at the surgery and despite having my medical notes infront of him insists on calling it glandular fever despite me having that over 5 years ago, so im not sure what point your trying to make? maybe you should explain yourself further.

And in regards to me being pregnant.....are disabled people not able to have children these days???

If you are going to make such snide comments at least be brave enough to come out and say it instead of skirt around it.

I understand what you are trying to say SS i too have a daughter with Aicardi syndrome ie non mobile ,visually impaired ,no speech, seizures daily, severe scoliosis ,breathing propblems, wheelchair bound.

And i understand that some who have less disabilities than her are still disabled and are entitled to BB and DLA etc.

Some would say i have a disability ,i have back problems caused by carrying her through the years and now have drop foot and numb left leg ,so i fall alot and when i get a nasty bout of back pain hubby takes time off work and looks after me ,we just get on with it.

I dont think as myself to be disabled because im not,too many people claim they are to get extra money and bb.

I can certainly relate to the care induced 'injuries', my back is completely shot to pieces for much the same reason as yours...lots of carrying, restraining and kicks to the back from a child in an Aspergic rage, on top of an already over flexible body which was prone to arthritis anyway.

I am another one who doesn't see herself as properly disabled, maybe because it has crept up on me over the years and maybe because I just don't want to admit to it. My eldest son is exactly the same, he dislocates all over the place and at a drop of a hat which of course causes pain but he says he is more enabled in a lot of places (can bend his joints further than anyone else to reach impossible parts) rather than disabled. Officially though, he has a disability but he has not taken up the option of making any claim for DLA or a BB.

But you can class yourself and be classed as disabled without claiming any money or a blue badge, my dad was registered disabled (when it was possible to be registered) since 1972 but has never sought any disability benefits and only applied for a blue badge when things became impossible without one in the late 2000's. He still refuses to apply for attendance allowance despite two strokes in April this year, yet he does admit to having not just one disability but several disabilities.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    "Your like a"

As your comprehension of basic English is sufficiently poor, one would not expect you to be able to take others views on board. The whole idea of a debate is to have a view, express it and wait a rebuttal. Your post clearly demonstrates your inferior use of language. I had a proposal of a two tier system, others disagree, fine! We can agree not to see eye to eye on a subject can we not? As for never giving advice, again you show your ignorance and a churlish tact aimed at trying to belittle and bully your way through.

How offensive to the young lady! Stuck in the 1970's are we? Can you not debate with her without resorting to condescending remarks?
