I've done this countless times before, and as soon as I leave the car, prior to helping my husband, I apologise to anyone who's progress I'm blocking. He doesn't have a wheelchair yet, but needs the door wide open in order to get out. Then I thank them again, before I drive properly into the space.
If you tried this, you would probably find any waiting drivers would help you, as it would mean them waiting less time. Reading your posts you appear to think that you have priority over other BB holders, and if other people "look" abled, as far as you're concerned, then they must be.

try this and stop feeling sorry for yourself maybe if you stop thinking how bad you are and started thinking possitive thoughts you may start feeling a little better its proven possitive thinking helps0 -
I am surprised this has turned into a flame war. The basic rule is, if you have a BB, you can park in a BB parking bay, regardless of the state of your condition. A Blue Badge entitles the user to park there, it is not about who is MORE disabled than who, there are no such guidelines or points scoring that go along with a Blue Badge. It is simply a badge to say "I can park here in this bay".
If people object to the system or think it somehow unfair, take it up with the DLA not the holder. Rules are Rules, and if they are not being broken in anyway, nobody has the right to claim that their BB is any different to anyone else with a BB. You can moan about it, grind your teeth over it, but there is not much you can do about it other than to accept it.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

It seems quite simple to you, because you choose to tar everybody with the same brush and generalise. It is easier for you to take a simplistic view, than consider that there might be other reasons.
You have written yourself "that is what some people are saying". Yes, some people. Not all the people. You have no idea whether someone parked in a BB space, who doesn't have a wheelchair, needs to have the space to open their door as wide as possible because of their needs or not.
I agree with other posters that there is so much bitterness on this board, more than I would ever have thought possible and it is being directed to other BB holders.
Whether people are sitting in their car to enjoy the view, or they've returned early, or because they've wet themselves, and are too ashamed to get out (this happened to my neighbour), they have not broken the law.

Too right theres bitterness ,and i can see bloody why.To many BB given out willy nilly and family members borrowing them.
Maybe if you had a severe disability and could not park because you are wheelchair bound and you see all these so called disabled people running in and out of the supermarket you woyuld feel the same.
Some people dont have good days/bad days some people have to deal with a severe disability everyday of there lives with no good days.So all you blue badge brigade just think to yourself do you really need it or can you manage to walk a few more metres .
Thank god there is to be a new system with Dla to weed out the frauds, though when it happens and your dla is taken away ,watch them all miraculusly seem to be able to walk again .

Rant over
Quoting my post, and then resorting to swearing does not add anything of value to your point of view, rather the opposite. My husband is the holder of the BB. This isn't lent to family members. He is disabled both physically and mentally.
When the new system comes into play, both he, and you, will still have BBs. By that time, his mental capacity will definitely have deteriorated, his physical disabilities may be worse or may be the same.
Rant as much as you like, if it makes you feel better, but don't assume your needs have priority over his or that everyone else is using BBs dishonestly.
I've seen people in wheelchairs laughing and joking, but I don't assume that just because they are cheerful, it must be because they're not really disabled, or they've found a BB space.

You pretty much summend that up perfectly
Always the same people making bitter rants and thanking them who do................how surprising
Some people genuinely think there need is more important than other disabled people, ive learnt that from this board thats for sure!
