So basically pwales because your having a shatty time at the moment your taking it out on other disabled people? millions of people face pain on a daily basis, your pain is no more or less important than anyone else's no matter how superior you think you are because you LOOK disabled, your just plain ignorant, and no BB spaces arent just for wheelchair uses because of the wider spaces and just shows how truly ignorant you are that you think that is so, get a grip the world doesnt revolve around you, compassion and respect is a two way street so maybe life wouldnt be such a biatch for you if you werent so bitter and judgemental, what a sad way to live your life.0

i dont look disabled i broke my back not my face:rotfl:
and im not disabled in my mind the world just dont fit me no more:D
me and sh debate this issue all the time she dont ever make it personal
looks like im not the only bitter person on here the way you kick off
oh and if you think i bovvard
i aint bovvard:rotfl::rotfl:0 -

LOL im not bitter im loving my life at the moment, after 2 years of hell things are finally looking good right now actually, my life isnt perfect, I still suffer daily with my illness but im thankful for my friends and family, what i cant stand is ignorance and prejudice against other people be it race, sex, religion, sexuality or disability, I wont stand for it in any shape or form and you crossed the line and I dont care if it wasnt about me personally your post could and probably has upset lots of people who probably have enough to deal with in their lives and dont need to be the subject of your bitter rants just because your having a bad day.
I think you'll find your the one kicking off with your capital letters and aint bovvard! if you werent 'bovvard' you wouldnt be on her shouting your mouth off would you?
And the fact you say your not disabled in your mind says alot about you, perhaps your struggling to come to terms with your disability, sorry you feel like that, but taking your bitterness out on the rest of the world wont bring anything positive your way, infact it will cause you more misery so perhaps you should have a long hard think about that.0 -
sh we have debated this alot we have agreed in the past that wide space is the issue not how close the space is to the shop
Depends on your disability? My Dad was born with dislocated hips that weren't spotted until it was too late to fix them. He has been in increasing pain for his whole life but can still, just about, walk short distances. He doesn't need a wide space until the time comes when he has to use a wheelchair but he does need to minimise the distance he has to walk"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

no not the case sh and you no it.
dla ib blue badges are given out on supplied evidence and your word on it
this is why now we are all being faced with medicals for dla /pip esa ect
my council will give a b/b to anyone over 65 who say they need one no medical evidence at all
i have never had a dla medical but i get a b/b because im on hrm
medicals are the future to the problem
It might come as a shock to you but some people HAVE had countless medicals and not all councils hand cards out without checking. Did it not occur to you that someone making the decision on your DLA used their brain and worked out if you had a broken back then a medical wasn't required to see if you could walk a certain distance?0 -
and my other point is none of who i seen was using the spaces "needed" a WIDE space they all could of used narrow spaces easy
i so pi****d of with it at the moment i will go far as to say the word disabled is also being missused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
[QUOTE=SandraScarlett;39597350 How on earth can you or anyone else know if the person sitting in their car in a BB space has an intention of getting out or not?
xx[/QUOTE]
...because if you read the posts that is exactly what some people are saying....and it does come back to the same point of not being able to access a bb parking spot yourself if the others are all taken with people 'doing favours' for others or enjoying the better view. Seems quite simple to me! QUOTE
It seems quite simple to you, because you choose to tar everybody with the same brush and generalise. It is easier for you to take a simplistic view, than consider that there might be other reasons.
You have written yourself "that is what some people are saying". Yes, some people. Not all the people. You have no idea whether someone parked in a BB space, who doesn't have a wheelchair, needs to have the space to open their door as wide as possible because of their needs or not.
I agree with other posters that there is so much bitterness on this board, more than I would ever have thought possible and it is being directed to other BB holders.
Whether people are sitting in their car to enjoy the view, or they've returned early, or because they've wet themselves, and are too ashamed to get out (this happened to my neighbour), they have not broken the law.

blue badge abuse must stop now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yesterday i could not get a wide b/b space,
whilst i was waiting in the" disabled":rotfl: que , the mainly older!
"disabled":rotfl:people were walking fine! carrying bags fine! not one person i saw had crutches chair scooter !
after 30 minuites of waiting, we decided to park in a normal space,
no matter how i parked my chair would not get right next to my door,
my wife and my son tried to help me into my chair,
guess what !!!!! i fell!!!:mad::mad::mad:
im now a ****ing cripple on the floor in the snowy slush, in **** loads of pain, looking a t**t!!
i have had no sleep because of the pain in my back where i broke it before.
i did not get the presents for my wife i wanted to get!
BRING ON THE MEDICALS I CAN NOW SEE WHY THINGS ARE CHANGING!!!!!!!
THE CUURRENT SYSTEM IS BEING ABUSED!!!!!!!
i dont care if this upsets anyone!!!!!!!
im humiliated in pain and pi**ed off!!!!!!!
May I ask a question, without risking my head being bitten off? If you can't get a BB space, then why not get your driver to drive the front wheels only into a standard space, and then get yourself and your wheelchair out of the car in the approach bit?
I've done this countless times before, and as soon as I leave the car, prior to helping my husband, I apologise to anyone who's progress I'm blocking. He doesn't have a wheelchair yet, but needs the door wide open in order to get out. Then I thank them again, before I drive properly into the space.
If you tried this, you would probably find any waiting drivers would help you, as it would mean them waiting less time. Reading your posts you appear to think that you have priority over other BB holders, and if other people "look" abled, as far as you're concerned, then they must be.
