Thanks pippa, I know what you're saying. Unfortunately I know what I'm like, and if I don't set myself this sort of goal, I will just say "oh well I'll pay off £900", then it will slip to £850, then £750 etc etc, which is what has been happening for the last 7 years..... I have to admit, it was a 4 year loan, which I could take money in and out as I pleased hence the long term of it.... I feel horrible looking at it now.

Have just had a major turn up for the books though.

Have just had a search through, and I have some clothes that tomorrow is the last day I can take them back (hopefully, its the 28th day)

Anyway its worth £38.... I do feel quite sick about taking them back to be honest as they are staple type clothes, black v neck and red v neck etc.... but I really don't need them... I have sooo many clothes, I am keeping two jumper dresses (£7 each from Primark), as I will definitely wear them when the cold weather gets here.

This way I'm not quite so short on cash, and if OH wants to go out to the cinema, or for fish and chips, I don't have to worrry so much.
  • Hey missy
have just skimmed through your diary and wanted to say you are doing really well!! I too am a fan of lots of cups of tea (and did I read a part about chocolate in there?? ;) ) and contemplating a new job with big salary drop and out of the profession Ive been in for the last 10 yrs or so .... so looking for inspiration it can be done!

anyway, thought id pop and say hello and well done for all your efforts so far!

    tyo

Thanks Kavics hun I do hear you.I wont be able to pay it off until I have the full amount anyway, so it will just be in another account which I can get at in an emergency if needs be. Thanks for worrying though.

hey the youngone, thanks for popping over!!! I'm drinking tea and eating a box of chocolates as we speak:o (consoling myself as OH has gone away today :(, well that's my excuse anyway:rotfl:)

Changing jobs and dropping pay was a really huge decision which wasn't easy to make and I have had a couple of wobbles over the last few weeks as to whether I have done the right thing to be honest too, but I know deep down that I have:) And that makes me smile every day. So good for you thinking about doing the same.

Just phoned Primark and tomorrow is my last day that I can take the clothes back :T Now do I go all in and take the other two jumper dresses back?

No pippa not quite, sorry didn't mean to worry you or confuse things:o. I thought I could pay it off in chunks, but I think it would confuse matters. But I am adament it will not be touched, I have to think of it as inaccessible for me to even have a chance of paying it off!:o

Hey Jellie, I sure am, Going through my clothes, and have found lots to ebay (some things still have tags on I'm ashamed to say:o) Too late to take them back though, although I have 2 tops that matalan still sell, I bought them a couple of months a go) that I can take back and get a voucher for, and I'm sure I can find something nice for my step mum who's birthday is next month ( a long with my 2 nephews) hmmmm once you put your mind to it, this money saving stuff isn't too bad:D Mind you if I hadn't been so stupid as to spend all the money in the first place I wouldn't be having the hassle of taking everything back now would I:o
