I'm wondering if someone can help me with this, how much is emergency tax? I earn £8 an hour before tax and work 30 hours a week.... I'm stuck. I dont know what the % is or what amount they will apply it to?

Any ideas would be very gratefully received.

I was told they dont do the emergency tax anymore, just use the standard 20% or whatever it is. Why not ask the payroll staff so you can be prepared?

Sounds like you had a lovely day, its great when you have some good finds like that and no parking etc.

Have noticed that I don't have any chopped tomatoes, which is going to make my store cupboard challenge more difficult, which is never good, but I've just been outside and there is loads of tomatoes that have turned red so I will grab as many as I can.:T

My sister and youngest nephew are coming over tonight. I usually drive the 40mins to hers, but as I'm in my not using the car frame of mind, I asked her to come to me, and this way I get to sleep in my own bed and I can have a little drinkie, and we're not having our usual takeaway, instead we are having pizza from the freezer, yum yum.:D

Am finally getting 6 eggs a day from my chook chooks and they are a lot more tame, am liking them a little more and am not quite so scared of them :T

Have been rather productive in the sorting of stuff, when I was decluttering things a few weeks ago, I filled two bin liners of clothes which were to go to the charity shop. have gone through them all, and with the clothes pulled out of the cupboard yesterday, I have 2 bin liners of clothes to put on ebay!!

Have been inspired by Daffys thread and am going to try and amazon some stuff too, and have had a massive turn up for the books, have found loads of autobiographies that my mum gave me that she didn't want, I wonder how well these will sell? I'm never going to read them!! Will have a look into it tomorrow as sister will be here shortly.

I hope you all have a good night.

    Thanks Jel.

Am in bed I know it's saturday night as well, my sister and nephew were both tired, so they have gone off to bed so I am happily sitting her on MSE again!! lol

Funny thing happened tonight, my sister was always the homely one, not make do and mend type, just always stayed in and didn't do much. Now she's getting divorced and is always out on the town etc, I feel we are so very different, and that she thought I was a little bit sad, with my excitement over my MS adventure and my love for my kitchen appliances etc etc...... Starting to wonder if I'm old before my time and whether i should be out and about doing 'normal' stuff a 29 year old should be doing........ Strange really as I felt so proud of my day up til now.

Hehe:), that's how I feel. Went to the cinema yesterday and afterwards we came back (around 8ish) realizing that we don't really know what to do with ourselves and might be too old going for drinks with friends (doesn't help that our friends are either only started to date so busy on a Sat night or are with kids)...I'm only 30 but feel older some days and younger on other:).
