Crikey am I glad to be home, have had the busiest of days, but all my worrying last night was rather silly, as today really wasnt that bad. Had to deal with all the directors lunches for their board meetings, and me on hand for anything, rather stressful when you're a little shy like me. but it went ok, I went rather red a few times, but ok all the same.
Have been coming up with some ideas for cooking and meal planning and saving money along with different challenges to set myself, will write a full and in depth plan on friday when OH goes away and I have the evening free to write away to my hearts content.
I hope you're all ok, am about to make a cuppa and check out the other threads, sorry I haven't been over to your threads for a while my lovelies, will have a good old catch up on friday.
much love

have had lots of thoughts and ideas about how to save the pennies. I'm quite enjoying coming up with things, just need to put them in place.
I hope you're all ok

Well it's friday, and I'm back from work, in my jarmies already, (yes I know I'm a lazy moo). OH has gone now as of this lunchtime and will be back in 4 and a half weeks. I'm snuggled on my sofa with my blankie, a lovely huge cuppa tea, made with my lovely teapot which was gifted by a friend. am raring to go with my next chapter of my life.
Am finally feeling settled in my new job, and feel like I'm really getting somewhere, have applied for my next two modules of OU and had them approved, so moving swiftly forward really.
Have been reading lots of threads and have got some great ideas for meal planning energy saving etc etc. Have made lots of lists and will write them out on here, will also write out my wages and my outgoings etc for my new job, crikey its tight and see if anyone can offer any more advice. So give me a wee while and I will endeavour to write it all out. Typing fingers at the ready......
speak soon

Hey sweetie - things are sounding great in your world :T.
Just got back from the gym - free trial, I'm only 50kg so its not for weight loss but DH needs to lose about 3 stone and SIL goes. I enjoyed the cross trainer and rowing machine, weights are nearly impossible, was on facebook while on the toning tables, and my heart rate got to 160 on the running machine . I will go payg and DH is going to do a 3 month up front membership as he will be going a lot more than me. I just kept thinking I could be walking the dog or road running for free :money:
But I thought you were supposed to come out energised - I've come out starving hungry and cold.
Cuppa tea and warm bath needed, trying to not think about biccies!
Enjoy your planning x0 -
oh my goodness I have just been extremely brave..... and phoned up the loan company, to see how much I owe...... and the settlement figure that they gave me was...... £2950.00...... Marginly less than I thought.:T I know it isn't a lot of money, but I have had this loan for 7 years  and have probably paid twice as much in interest:o
Need to sit down with some figures and work out how soon I can get it paid off!!!:T
hey pippa well done on going to the gym, I never feel energised either, just tired and hungry:D I know how you feel about paying for it, I've decided not to bother, my biking to and from work is doing wonders though, just need to cut down on the eating again:o easier said than done!!!
Ooooh I'm so excited at the prospect of paying off my loan soon, does that make me sad :rotfl:0 -
Just going through my account and working things out to the last penny to see if I can pay off £1000 when I get paid!!0

Great news on the loan Missy, I'm sure you'll be pay it off soon enough! Cycling is great, isn't it?Though my legs are too mascular, don't like them anymore
. Have a great weekend!

OK I think I can do it but its going to be tighter than a tight thing.
OK so when I get paid at the end of September I will get: £1520
Break down of spends:
£300 Bills (this is a set amount both me and OH pay)
£137 C/C (I've just phoned and this is what is due next month)
£25 Mobile ( is only £15 tarrif but forget 118 etc are extra!!!)
£71 (OU - final payment of the first module)
= £533
Which leaves me with £967
Now this isn't quite enough to reach my £1000 pay off this month target so....
I currently have £5.57 in my bank (horrendously low I know but I have just paid £650 for new OU course)
I'm Owed £10 out of the egg money as i paid for the food out of my money.
I have £45 in my purse.
And I usually spend £10 a week on food when OH is away, now I have no need at all to do this, as the cupboards are absolutely bursting with food so I shall take this £40 for the month and put it towards the DFW fund!!
This all equates to £100
so £33 will go to make the money up to £1000 to pay off.
Which leaves me with £67..... trouble is, I have 3 birthdays, now I usually spend £30 each, but am going to cut it down to £20, would like it to be less, but don't want people to know I'm cutting corners on birthdays etc, I'm sure they would understand but its a pride thing, and its my nephews and I spoil them
Which leaves me with £7 which would be fine apart from the fact OH comes back mid month, and will want to go out..... so going to scour the house for things to sell, have millions of clothes I can sell on ebay. Bought a couple of new jumpers the other week, wonder if I can find the receipt. Also I'm sure I can get rid of a couple of phones, although I doubt I would get much for them, but every little helps. Need to get over my fear of selling things on ebay. I think I can convince him to stay in. I think OH will prob really only want to go to the cinema, which is only about £13-£15, so as long as I can come up with that we should be ok, and I'll cook nice dinners so he'll want to stay in, he's on a bit of an economy drive too, so fingers crossed.
Going to go through my clothes in a bit and see what I can get rid of:T
I have looked into the next month too and am pretty sure I can find £1950, as for a while both my old employer and new one will both be paying me. But it will be just as tough as this month:eek:but I'm adament I can do it!!!
Feel positively energised that this weight that i have carried around for 7 long years, can finally be lifted, in a matter of 2 months!!! I can't wait, has fuelled me to get on and do it too!!
OOOh how exciting:T0 -
You must have needed more than the back of an envelope for that lot!
Just remember if it is better to pay off £900 and not stress over having no money then do that instead!
Will you get charged for early redemption of the loan?0 -
Yeah, agree with Pippajo, better pay off £900 than stress over an extra £100. Why don't you pay only the £900 and see whether you can make an extra £100 somehow? Like ebaying, babysitting, selling eggs, etc? There would be extra motivation and your month wouldn't be so tight. Don't forget, there is always something that you might need to buy even if your cupboard is full! Either way, you'll be debt free by the end of this year, that's what count!0
