hey pippa no not 3 storey but our bedroom is in the roof/rafters, and I swear the bedroom window doesn't close properly as the traffic noise is a lot louder than it should be, but OH is having none of it!! lol men hey?!

Am having a lovely time reading through diaries and drinking tea in bed, OH is downstairs playing on the play station, so I've actually got a bit of peace for a couple of hours, aaahhh bliss.
  • Ooh, savings I remember those. I think I had some before I owned a house.

I'm loving the new job - it is nerve wracking, mostly having a boss for the first time in 10 years. It's really good fun having colleagues again - I have been working on my own too long! And I can't wait for my first pay packet!

We had those monitors as well but our flat was too far from the meter so sold it:o.

Glad you're focused on money, I'm sure you'll be able to clear everything by Xmas. How is new job?
  • In bed reading diaries sounds bliss. Nearly the weekend :j

Think have finally turned a corner...... I went to Matalan yesterday..... and I didn't buy anything!!!!! :j:T!

Have just cleaned out the chickens and am back in bed watching Jo frost, extreme parenting, whilst OH is down making tea and toast, lovely! He does have his uses!:D

I have applied for my OU courses, one on line and paying monthly, one being paid outright which I have to send the forms out for, I am really happy with the fact I actually had enough money to pay it!!! :D

I'm getting there just need to organise myself.

Going to the cinema tonight and then for a 2 for 1 meal tonight as its OH's last weekend at home, we're going to see toy story 3 in 3d :T.

Right... oooh toast is here :D

Hope you all have lovely Saturdays, speak soon

  • Have a lovely weekend hun, make the most of it x
  • I have actually been quite productive on my Saturday, have spoken to OU and posted my application, had another look and realised I didn't quite have enough money in my account, so I have paid by cheque, which will give me time to put the £48 worth of cheques I have that need to be paid in, which as long as i pay it in on monday should even it up nicely, rather than going into my OD like normal. Feel really good about this. This leaves me with the money in my purse £60, and what's left over from the cheques, which is £28, we're out tonight but it's two for one and we'll go halves, so out of my £88, I will hopefully have atleast £50 left, which as I am not buying petrol, should last me ok.

I have done one load of washing, tidied up, put my name down for an allotment, fingers crossed, and am now having a lovely time reading memory girls thread, drinking a cuppa.

    hey pippa, thanks hun x

hey kavics hun, didn't mean to ignore your post yesterday, managed to not see it for some reason. Job is going well, still learning peoples quirks etc, and finding my mind is in overdrive with being so busy at work but it's all good.

Not sure about the eon monitor, really doesn't seem very accurate and the timings seem a bit squ-iff. But we will see, still trying to be really good turning things off, although OH playing on the PS3 doesn't really help!

Have done 3 loads of washing and most are on the line, still have one more to hang out. We have decided not to go out tonight as we have been out so much it will be really nice to actually have a night in together, and it seemed a shame to waste the nice weather in a cinema. So money saving all round really, well we'll go during the week, but probably wont have dinner out, and we have 2-4-1 on cinema tickets too, so should generally be super cheap, and I might even have money left over at the end of the month, but we shall see!

Going to hve BBQ for tea yum yum

  • An allotment sounds heavenly! Had a look around my garden today to survey chook damage and might have to rethink how free range they are for next year! Will still have plenty of space but need to protect my veggies - they've trashed my broccoli!

Lol ruby, chooks make so much mess don't they. Mine are funny things, one of them decided to fall asleep in the doorway of the henhouse so the rest couldnt get up, so they just sat all lined up on the ramp up to it, really made me laugh them all sitting there, clucking with their dissatisfaction.

Am still reading through Memory girls monsterous thread, OH is downstairs making a cuppa.

I have decided to take up knitting, so that I can knit a square whenever I'm bored and need to relax. Have had a look on ebay for needles as I don't own any thing at all, going to make my own knitting bag with my off cuts of material. Any ideas where is the best place to buy needles and wool from? Trying so hard not to go over my spends for this month and stay out of my overdraft, so trying to do it as cheaply as possible.

Off to inlaws for lunch today, so no money will be spent, need to start selling my eggs I think!
