Polesalot's Climb to Debt Freedom

Hi poles, just catching up on your diary.
One of my teachers told us before we sat our GCSE's (many moons ago) that we should wear new underwear before our exams as it would make us feel better. It's always kind of stuck with me that nice new undies are such a treat. Only thing is at the minute most bras are padded and I don't need any more padding as I end up looking like dolly parton:)
Cars are a nightmare. I love my car but it is constantly playing up. I hate going to garages because they make me feel like such an imbecile. The last time I took it in I explained to them clearly what the problem was (BF had coached me:)) and it was still under warranty. After taking my car round the back the mechanic came and told me it was a different problem cause he could smell burning (and it would cause 300 quid to fix). When I rang BF to tell him he went in to see them and the mechanic then admitted to my BF that it was a 'known fault' and these cars had been recalled. Why couldn't he have told me that? Oh this is therapeutic ..calm, calm, calm
Have a great weekend.

Well.........I had a really lovely time. He turned up and had cooked spag bol, and had done 3 starters as well (prawns in chilli, garlic and ginger) AND brought wine and chocolates for later. He said he made it at home first because he makes such a mess in the kitchen and didn't want to mess mine up. I was so touched. I have never had a man do things like that for me. The food was lovely and we just chatted for hours and he left at 3am
. I didn't get any new underwear but I was wearing a reasonably new matching set that I haven't worn very much - you're right it does make a difference. He's coming round next Friday as I have a child free night
. I went to bed feeling really happy. I will be buying some new undies though (well it's only polite :rotfl:).
Got up this morning and found my Muse tickets hadn't sold. Re-listed them BIN and they sold in 25 minutes :j. I have lost a little bit of money but I am really pleased still.
Went into town yesterday and got DD some new polo shirts for school, a new pinafore and some new socks.
Paid in my cheque from Fonebanker.
Did the rest of my shop in Tesco. Ended up getting more than a few bits and it came to £18.58 but still within my £40 limit for the week.
Hoovered all through down here earlier and have done all the ironing and labelled DD's new school stuff so I am just going veg out on the sofa and watch Vexed and finish off the rest of last night's pavlova.
Feel like I'm getting a cold. Probably not helped by my exceedingly late night (but ooh it was enjoyable)

Ooh pal sounds as though you had a wonderful evening. Reckon you've found a good 'un there - YAY ! xxNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Wow, that sounds like a fabulous night with the new man. Do you think he cooked those things himself? Prawns in chilli, garlic and ginger...sound divine but a bit complicated too. Sorry I'm just the suspicious type who's wondering if he bought them at M+S or got a female friend/sister to cook it to impress you!!
Jealous too, I'd love to be having late night chats with a sexy man!
Definitely treat yourself to some undies, you hardly ever buy anything for youself. You should be able to find something lovely on a sale rail at Debenhams/House of Frasar or other local department store. I'm absolutely certain he cooked them himself. He just seems different to anyone I've been out with before. I feel so relaxed, not twitchy at all.
Do you know I've been kept 'hanging on' by someone else for the last year and it's incredible, almost the minute I drew a line under it all and said to myself 'enough is enough' then WLM came into my life. We've got so much in common. Just put the past in its place and open yourself up to the future and you never know what might happen.
I saw some nice undies in the M & S outlet store on Friday. They were black and hot pink, really nice (and only a teeny bit slutty) £16 for the bra and pants - I might get them!! Failing that I'll go to Primani - I'm only small and their stuff fits me really nicely.

Just nodded off on the sofa
although not surprising as we have been out for a really long walk today. We walked from my friend's house across fields until we came to the country park (we usually drive there). I reckon it was at least 2 1/2 miles there, then we had a walk through the woods, had our packed lunch, the girls had a play and then we walked back through all the fields again. So about 6 miles. A NSD too. Very pleased with ourselves. I shall sleep well tonight, if the nap on the sofa hasn't spoilt it.
Must post off the Muse tickets tomorrow.
Off to another farm tomorrow. That is our last trip out. Going to have a reasonably quiet day on Wednesday as it is the last day before DD goes back to school. I have promised her she can have a cut and blow-dry at the hairdressers so she looks all posh for the first day.
Think that's all. Need to look up directions to the farm because we've not been to this one.

What a lovely day yesterday was for you. No wonder you zonked out on the sofa, all that fresh air and walking. And a NSD too. Great.
