Polesalot's Climb to Debt Freedom

Well this has worked out OK. DD and friend are pretty much entertaining themselves, and apart from the inane giggling which is really starting to grate a bit, I've been left alone to get on with things.
Just cleaned the bathroom. Attempted to fix towel rail back then realised I have nearly every size rawl plug except the one I need. Never mind, 'date' runs come kind of DIY supply place so could get me anything I need.
Towels are in the wash but no chance of getting them out today. I think I'll run some soda crystals through the washing machine afterwards to clear all the carp out of it.
Really want to put some pictures up in here - we have been here over 3 years after all. Have dusted some off it's just really difficult to get an idea of the positions when it's me holding them up!
Need to pack up a prezzie for cousins new baby who we are visiting tomorrow. Afterwards I was going to slob out on the sofa and watch some TV but the girls are now playing Just Dance on the WiiIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I hope the car incident was an isolated one, I too live in fear of such emergencies that I don't have cash to cover.
I'm also addicted to onepoll, I log in a few times a day but I'm ony at almost £9-probably shouldn't have started at all. Will you start again when you get to £40?Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
Poles I love just dance on Wii !
Congrats on the ebay sale. Boo to cars !
Am I right in thinking you have some DIY skills ? I would love to have confidence with a drill.DC.

Well if you have a problem with your car don't bother asking any questions over on the car board - you'll be slated for your ignorance. Honestly they must all be absolute perfection over there. I'm actually so cross at the mo I am shaking. I had some helpful replies even from someone who I made a flip remark to, then someone else sticks their oar in when the spat was all over . I imagine they are a bunch of blokes who have only got their precious cars to worry about. Sorry, rant over.
I probably will carry on with the OnePoll, it only takes a couple of mins and I can do it at workIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

The girls are singing along to Katy Perry now
I am just so relieved that the car problem has turned out to be OK.
I can do basic DIY. I must admit I really have to psyche myself up to use a drill - drilling is so final isn't it?! I can put flat pack furniture together, paint etcIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I was sitting here half an hour ago thinking how heavy the rain sounded when I suddenly realised that water was pouring out of the guttering on the extension roof
Basically a pipe runs from the main roof, across the extension then down on to the guttering on the edge of the extension and it has got all mossed up.
I got onto the roof but the rain was coming down so heavily I couldn't stay out there for very long. Part of the pipe had come apart so I fitted that back together but it will need to be secured properly.
The bit that directs the water into the guttering was facing into the direction of my neighbour's garden a few weeks back then the other day I noticed it was facing into the direction of my garden. This is fine but I reckon that he must have just twisted it from his side and that's when the pipe came apart.
You could really see a lot from up there though
I don't know when I'm going to fix it. Out all day tomorrow, maybe Friday at some point if this awful rain ever stopsIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

That's my level too, I just recall many situations where DH was huffing and puffing over drill bits/walls etc - but then that's what what he used to do .
'Stand back I'll deal with this terrifying wall plug fair maiden !' lol.DC.

It would be nice to have a man around if only to ask about the car so I don't have to venture over to the scary car board where you are supposed to know everything (and heaven help you if you don't)!It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

It was only the extension roof...and I got on it through DD's bedroom window. It was a bit tricky getting back in, especially with the rain trickling down my neckIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0
