But you climb on the roof !!
    Amazing..

That's what I was thinking! You can't fix it while it's raining, would washinglineman have a look at it (and the car) for you. He sounds like he wouldn't mind at all. Not all men are useful around the house though. I've come across a lot who have no clue about DIY (usually ones with desk jobs who have spent years in university)

Well I wish I'd cleared more of the moss out while I was up there because until about 10 minutes ago the rain was coming down even harder:eek:. I think I'll get up tomorrow morning and it will have come through the back door:eek:. I'll get up early and see if I can clear some more out - if it's dry that is. Washinglineman isn't coming round till Saturday and I don't think it can wait that long. If I manage to get out there tomorrow I think I will clean DD's window - might as well while I'm up there ;)

DD has been a nightmare this afternoon while her friend has been round. They are both very excitable 6 year olds and DD has been showing off and being very cheeky to me. I feel like I've spent the whole afternoon shouting :( so to get the guttering incident halfway through it all was not much help. I fear she won't be getting any pocket money from Grandad this week.....

I knew there was something else - got my electric bill in today, now just £2.79. It was an estimate but they weren't too far under so I rang up with the readings and should get the up to date bill in a few days. I don't think I will be paying them £70 pcm from next month. I reckon I could get them to adjust it to £40, maybe £45 to be on the safe side. That will be an extra £25 at least to throw at my debt.:)

  • Good for you :) I put mine up to cover winter and will make them put it back down after winter..i hope unless we get a rotten one again. :(

    Good Morning.
What a coupe of exciting days you have had Poles. Re the car, that happened to me once, burning and smoke even. I got a friend to look at it who said the same thing - clutch. That was 2 years ago and I have had it serviced and MOT twice since then and no new clutch needed. If you are driving it and all fine why not just keep on for a couple of days before paying anyone to look at it and see how it goes. As for the car board PAH. Probably just full of people who have such a boring life the only fun they get is berating somebody. Leave them to it. What goes around comes around I always say and it might be fun to see them over on the dfw boards asking a question and getting shot down in flames. Seems to me that DFW boards are the nicest people anyway as they never seem to judge, just offer helpful advice.

And get you - up on extensions - must be the pole dancing giving you the head for heights. Just as long as you didnt do any drainpipe dancying in the rain to shock the neighbours. Hope its all sorted out now. Who told the neighbour he could go on your extension roof by the way? Cheeky b*gger!
Hope your day today is less eventful

Busy day today. Got up early and got on the roof again. It is so damn hard getting out of the window (and I am quite bendy ;)). Managed to scoop the blockage away with my rubber gloved hands. Had to just plop it all over the side onto my patio as I didn't know where else to put it (next doors roof? :p) so there were loads of gunky splats on slabs and spurts up the door! Didn't have time to clean the door but I swept the splats away as best I could.

Went to visit my cousin with my sister and her DS. There were 5 under 7s  quite hectic but very nice to see them all.

Just had my pole class, so feeling quite sore as I fell off at one point and bashed my elbow :( but the crash as I landed made it sound far worse than it was. I managed to do some stuff I'd not been able to do before and got my friend to take some photos so even if I never manage those tricks again I still have photographic evidence to prove I can do them :D.

Just hoovered through down here and mopped kitchen and bathroom floors.

Checked for surveys but none. I will never reach the £40 mark at this rate :(

I do have 2 watchers on 2 of my eBay things so that is good.

Off to Dickens World tomorrow and big shop in the afternoon :)

Ouch, wondering what's with all the injuries on MSE this week? My foot and cherisongs fall. I think we all need some:coffee:and chocolate (or pavlova:)).

Hope your little girl is behaving again, it's kinda cute showing off to her friend!

Another busy day. Dickens World was really good, at least I thought so, DD wasn't so keen and had a bit of a tantrum. She seems to be going through (what I hope is just) a bit of a funny stage at the moment. We have had to have a long chat this evening. Hope we've sorted it all out because it is making me feel awful :(

Did a bit of shopping at the outlet centre afterwards. Went into Clarkes to get DD's feet measured and she has gone up half a size so I got her a new pair of school shoes. Only £19.99 - they would be about £30 in the normal store so feel very pleased about that. We also managed to get the style we liked, normally the outlet store leaves me feeling really down because they have all the bargains but not the shoes you want!

I was a bit extravagant and bought a picture for my bedroom. I finished decorating it nearly 2 years ago and still haven't put any pictures up :o. I feel quite pleased because the one I bought I actually first saw it about 6 months ago, didn't buy it at the time and regretted it so when I saw it in the shop I knew I had to get it. It's tall and thin and is of just the back of a woman's legs in seam-backed stockings and heels. It was only £22.99 and it will look great in my bedroom ;). I just need to fix some wire on the back and hang it. I'll do that tomorrow because I don't think my neighbours will thank me for banging nails into the wall at this hour.

Got my big shop in Aldi and it came to £19.87. I am very pleased because this is less than half my weekly food budget. I still need to get some other bits tomorrow but they aren't going to come to £20. So far so good.

Received my cheque for my phones so that's another £23 into my account. I could put it towards the Virgin card...hmmmm....need to think about that I think. Money is going OK this month so far - I know I only got paid on Tuesday but usually by this time things are looking dire and we have been out on quite a few trips so all things considered I am doing well. Hope it stays that way :)

Going into town tomorrow. I want to get DD some new polo shirts for school and some new underwear.

Maybe I should get myself some new underwear?? Washinglineman is coming round tomorrow to cook us dinner ;)

I think as the return to school comes ever closer the kids put up this rebelious act, bit like nervous energy. I know when my two hit this point of the Summer hols I was usually close to the edge. As much as I loved the holidays - no rushing around trying to find football boots and locker keys - I really think they secretly look forward to the start of the new term.

Am still amazed at your roofing antics.
Hoping you have a lovely day with washinglineman later.

Hi Poles, I echo what DC says re your DD the holidays are a long time for them to remain fully occupied and perhaps some of what is happening is her being frustrated but she cant articulate that yet.

Love that you are thinking of buying new underwear, you should definitely do that as it will make you feel good (even if WLM never gets to see it). I always feel special when I have bought new underwear. My Mum used to say that she knew when I was feeling a bit down or going on a date because I bought knickers :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It is still one of my little luxuries. In fact you just made me decide to buy some new underwear out of next months treat budgets!!

    Enjoy the evening.
