Question - how far north are you & do the plants have full sun ? we are in a good spot in N Yorks. We have the advantage of an early start in a heated greenhouse, so the plants are 6 inches & straight out after last frost. This year we had gardeners delight red & ripe from end of July (21 plants was over-doing it somewhat, but last year only 1/3rd took)- in green house and against a sheltered wall . Bush variety (Garden Pearl ) cropped later and were not so good ( Nibbled by Hedgehogs! we have video) . I notice that they are a larger type vairety- how many trusses set before you pinched out the tops? my neighbours did not ripen either because they were in shade, started late and not pinched out.
