I'm growing alicante tomatoes outdoors and they're doing really well with loads of tomatoes on - no sign of any turning red yet though! We're away on holiday on Tuesday for a week, so I bet they'll be ready whilst we're away and we'll miss the best of them!0

Got a big dish of them in the fridge. Picking for 3 weeks now.
Matsuka the free packet from Gardening News [sown 16 Feb] has been the most prolific so far; followed by Sungold which don't make it to the kitchen most of the time. And Piglet Willie's French Black are now turning a deep shade of red. We are having tomato and mozzarella salad for tea tonight. Yum.0 -

Our alicantes have also been teasing us for weeks! Many trusses have been full sized for a few weeks but no sign of turning red. We just got back from a week away yesterdya and were convinced they were goingt o turn while we were on holiday, but so far all still green!
Our tumbling toms have started to turn, however I'm a bit disappointed with them in terms of taste and their skin is quite thick too - I often end up spitting out the skin! We have 5 of them in pots and there are sooo many green ones, I think we'll get a glut and probably make most of them into chutney.0 -
I've just got two plants in my sunroom. Both have had a couple go red in the last week. The crop on both is massive.0

My black cherry are starting to change colour , I have some huge green ones on a gardeners delight and my cherriettes of fire have loads on but no sign of any colour change.
I'm getting impatient but know if they all go red at once I will not know what to do with them all!Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
I've had a truss full off one plant (from a friend so not sure of variety) and my Martina are furthest ahead - I've had one.
? how many trusses to you let develop on Gardeners Delight? I'm growing a bush variety for the first time too - it has branches and trusses everywhere - do I just leave that or prune some off?The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I let my tomatoes go on developing as many trusses as they want to. I just keep adding a generous weekly dose of Tomorite, and if we have a good late sunny autumn you should still be continuing to harvest some tomatoes.0

At long last my Moneymaker tomatoes are ripening nicely in the greenhouse. They have been green for what seems like an eternity.

Mine are outside so still green, but the forecast looks like lots of sun for the weekend so hopefully will spur them on0
