Does anyone have any red tomatoes yet
I have thousands of tomatoes on 23 plants, I have never seen so many but they are all still green. I don't think watching them 10 times a day is helping.
My question is, should I keep them all, someone said get rid of the small ones to force the larger ones but this seems a bit radical and wasteful to me.

I've been picking the first red & yellow outdoor tomatoes from my tumbling tomato plants for just over a week now but they usually ripen a little earlier than the upright plants, where I have two ripe Gardeners Delight tomatoes on the plant.
No, definitely don't pick off any of the smaller tomatoes as they will grow bigger and ripen in time. To do so would be a terrible waste and I'm not sure it would encourage the remainder to grow or ripen any faster.0 -
One or two-we're still at the "gardener's reward" stage. One tomato per day, to be savoured by...me. Well, I did let the children have all the strawberries

We've had 4 red cherry toms over the past few days - and they all tasted amazing! I wouldn't pick any of the small/green ones of personally though - hang on a few weeks and you'll soon be struggling to keep up with them as they start to ripen!0

I have 3 different greenhouse varieties and 1 outside variety and all are greener than the hulk and I always try to keep them happy!0

Gardeners delight and sungold been cropping for a week or two. Ailsa craig will be a week or two before they are ready.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Mine are all still green :-( lots and lots of them though so hopefully will go red soon. Still growing really nicely so I'm hopeful of a decent crop. Last years were brill and my son (3) goes out every few hours and is always disappointed that they are still green!
;) Better to say nothing and look a fool than to speak and remove all doubt

We've got some in the greenhouse and have picked about a dozen over the last week. None of the outside ones are ready yet.0
