I've had a truss full off one plant (from a friend so not sure of variety) and my Martina are furthest ahead - I've had one.

? how many trusses to you let develop on Gardeners Delight? I'm growing a bush variety for the first time too - it has branches and trusses everywhere - do I just leave that or prune some off?

In theory you sould 'stop' them (from producing more trusses) but I don't. Like Primose (abvove) I let mine run on till they cease growing due to lower temperatures and reduced light levels (this is in a greenhouse, mind you). Unlike Primrose, though, I feed mine with amost every watering - which may mean I have obese tmatoes, but seems to work for me. That's using Chempak tomato feed, by the way.

Only one red one so far (15.3oz :D ) but a couple of orange, brown and lots of yellow. :)
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

You don't normally touch bush tomato plants, other than, perhaps, removing dieing leaves from the bottom to prevent the chance of disease.

Bush varieties grow a certain height and then concentrate on the tomatoes, whereas indeterminates assume there will be another year, therefore they aren't focused on the tomatoes and thus need the extra work to force them to do it.

I've got a couple of plum tomato plants in my porch and I've had about 9 red toms so far. The ones in the garden are still green.

No red ones here (Sheffield), they are pretty prolific though, we have had so much rain here the past few weeks, its saved me watering but has meant I've been feeding more than i normally would.

I'm pretty chuffed with my tomatoes this year - first year growing was a disaster.

I have 3 ordinary size cordons and 3 cherry cordons - the cherries are going red but the ordinaries are still green. I have no idea what type they are as they were given to me by two friends, one had lost the packet and the other swore the ordinary tomatoes were cherries.

I am toying with trying 100s & 1000s in a hanging basket next year (or the year after if I can nurse the strawberries for another year) - so many varieties and so little time :p

We have been picking tomatoes for around a month now and probably have enough to do something with now. We are growing Moneymaker, gardeners delight, coeur de bue and minibel, like another poster said it is probably down to location. Here we have had lots of sun and hardly any rain (not good for my garden :( )
