I can set it to boot from CD/DVD Rom, Floppy, HDD, (all USB) or network, so that would appear to be a yes.
Any ideas where I can get USB-based recovery media from?

    You can make your own.

You need this, a suitably sized USB Drive or SD card and a Windows XP Disc.

I've only got my Windows disc which apparently is a bit peculiar. It's only got two files on it.

OK, I've used FlashBoot to make a bootable USB drive and can now get to netbook to start using Linux.
Anyone know how to uncompress a drive in Linux?

    Small problem.
Think I might have done something wrong, as all I get from the bootable USB stick is password manager.
    Anyone got any idiot-proof instructions?

    Think I've sorted it(?)
I've now got three 3 files on my flash drive:-
    GRLDR
    Menu.lst
    wntsetup.img

    Is this correct?
Second question, will this just boot the machine without damaging the contents already on the hard-drive?

So have you a Windows XP Disc or haven't you? It appears that you don't.

Ignore that post, I'd shoved the wrong disc into the drive :o
I've just listed the files that are now on my USB stick.
    Are they the right files?

From where did you get your Windows disc?
