Hi DC
Just found your thread, it is very inspiring and I love the way you are decluttering. I think I will take a leaf out of your book and try to declutter 2 things a day, starting this evening!
Will keep reading I have a feeling you will end up being my motivation

Hmmm, think the 13 year old dyson has had it, sort of high pitched whistle coming from it, sending the dog into even more of a 'I hate that thing' frenzy, plus new filter is still clogging. Is it worth investigating a repair ?DC.

Right time for a deep and meaningful post. I have been very busy pootling around today and as you do when you are cleaning windows you 'reflect'. I am still hanging on to the past, and with that brings bucketloads of 'stuff' that I can't let go of. ie, old letters from school friends to old towels I think I'll have a use for and of course things that were DH's that I'll never have a use for, just holding on to them because they are his.
Thats the hardware, the emotional software also hangs on the last 20 years. Had enough of looking back, am going to start looking forward. What's done is done, some bad, some terrible, some wonderful. Can't change it.
So 500 days from today is 13.12.11, I sort of like that date, because it's backwards but forwards ! (Yes I had a lot of window to clean...)
On that date I would like- to owe under 10k at most.
- live in a clean clutter free home, with a neat, low maintenance garden
- weigh under 10st
- look 5 years younger
- have a FT job
- be more than halfway through an OU degree
- have a clean oven
Will add more as time goes on.
So today I have cleaned my bay window and sill, and it looks lovely.
Time to mess the oven up some more with a roast chook...
Aarghhh I'm not sure how to only quote part of a post??
I cleaned my windows yesterday too and had a think while I was doing it - makes the time go quicker and the job doubley productive. Goodness, think how much thinking you'll do when you clean the oven?? :rotfl:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: oh dear me...I'll probably become a Grandmother in the time it will take me to do that !
To quote a small part just hit quote and delete the bits you don't want, leaving all [ ] brackets where they are iyswim.DC.

I'm very much with you on the decluttering. I was thinking today that I would just like a house I could take for granted when people come round and that I wouldn't feel that I had to apologise for or explain why we have no central heating for the last 5 years as we couldn't afford to get the boiler replaced. Another reason for not getting the central heating fixed, idiotic as it may sound is that the gas men would have to go into every room in the house including the cellar and the attics.
On the Dyson front have you tried taking it completely apart and removing any hair or fluff that is trapped round wheels and rollers and possibly blocking pipes?0
