  • August, what will it bring ?
Well I hope the beginnings of some sort of order.

I have always failed miserably with the grocery budget and spending diaries. Yet when I meal plan it makes so much sense. So that is on the to do list today. I do battle with menu ideas though. I'm happy with veggie chilli, fish or just jacket potatoes and salads, but my two men in training obviously eat for England.

Clutter issues, made a start yesterday. Some serious paper shredding and filing went on. To be continued today.

I have made a PAD today, of my Quidco payment. Thrown it at the nasty marbles card.

Today I am abstaining from any intake of alcohol for the next month. I sleep better, wake up refreshed and my skin transforms.

No-one has emerged from their pits yet, time for more tea ...oh go on then..

  • False economy, that gets me into trouble. Just cooked the boys a full English. Bacon, had 4 rashers of a decent Mr.T streaky, and opened a pack of the bog standard streaky from same shop. Was disgusting, the rubbish that comes out is scary. The dog enjoyed it....

Same with apples, you buy the tasteless bulk bags and they don't get eaten, but give em a 'pink lady' or decent empire it's money well spent. It is true you get what you pay for, and the fridge doesn't get so cluttered.

Given my financial situation sometimes I think it's unjustified that I should shop like this, but waste is not good.

Ah yes, but there are 'economy' type things that (IMHO) are better, i.e. Mr T's Discount Brand beans 29p a tin, and their tinned toms

Don't touch the toilet roll though

  • Yep agree on that, and toilet roll thing there is always one of the better brands offering 12 for 9 or such like.
It's the bright yellow bended butter from Mr T that really scared me..if you cook with it the colour seeps in everything, strange.

    Being nagged to make flapjacks..

Don't ever try frying eggs with it _pale_

Right, really am off to Mr T's now

Mustn't forget to turn the pork down to gas mark 2 before I go, otherwise 6 hours on gas mark 9 might make it slightly inedible

I was waiting in the car for my mum whilst she was in Mr Ts :D

So much for my fiver limit, only had a £20 and spent £13 of it, though no luxuries cept a multipack of ripples  just stuff for the kids lunches in the week so no regrets.

  • Jo you are forgiven, is SSG's fault.

Right time for a deep and meaningful post. I have been very busy pootling around today and as you do when you are cleaning windows you 'reflect'. I am still hanging on to the past, and with that brings bucketloads of 'stuff' that I can't let go of. ie, old letters from school friends to old towels I think I'll have a use for and of course things that were DH's that I'll never have a use for, just holding on to them because they are his.

Thats the hardware, the emotional software also hangs on the last 20 years. Had enough of looking back, am going to start looking forward. What's done is done, some bad, some terrible, some wonderful. Can't change it.

So 500 days from today is 13.12.11, I sort of like that date, because it's backwards but forwards ! (Yes I had a lot of window to clean...)

On that date I would like
    • to owe under 10k at most.
    • live in a clean clutter free home, with a neat, low maintenance garden
    • weigh under 10st
    • look 5 years younger ;)
    • have a FT job
    • be more than halfway through an OU degree
    • have a clean oven :o
The hardest part may actually be the last one.
Will add more as time goes on.
So today I have cleaned my bay window and sill, and it looks lovely.

Time to mess the oven up some more with a roast chook...

  • I've got shoe box syndrome !
Things have homes, close to where they are needed, makes so much sense. May even wrap them in in co-ordinating paper...oooh I'm going all habitat. So glad I didn't chuck shoe boxes out, actually useful clutter !

After work today there is a rumour I will be playing with the dyson and the hall stairs.

    Job hunt time...
