  • Yes Buffy, cousin Helen, she'll do..sadly only have cousin nicky who lives in Canada, ah well.

But I do agree, what if someone actually needs to come in to my house for a serious reason ! I mean a real live adult that I'm not related to and isn't under 20, and can actually speak without eating for 10 minutes ? ( I do love my sons and their friends but they are typical Kevins).

Just the thought. Is the CHAOS thing that dfw was talking about. Can't Have Any Over Syndrome.

I LONG to be one of those people who have everything under control...!
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Yes it is that exactly, chaos. Flylady is really spot on about it.

Its how we have always lived, Mum never wanted people coming round when I was a kid I didn't have friends over, I always went to their house pretty much. Its funny when I look back it seemed totally normal but I do wonder what everyone thought!
    xx

edited to add - do you know what is really odd? I don't remember the house being a mess??
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Ooooh, I love you both :) However it will be gone.
Tried the great declutter thread, but was chucking so much out I couldn't remember what went out/in, was just more jumble for me to remember !

We can do it systematically then and the things we can't fully decide on we can discuss... And ask each other questions like will u use it ? Is it broken ? Etc etc that way we can make sure we keep what we need / want and get rid of the rest
  • Yes the whole do you love it? does it make you happy?

I wouldn't mind i have all this junk everywhere and I don't even have kids. xx

They are tasty with catsup I heard lol
  • Buffy I think even if it was just me then I'd still be this totally overwhelmed by stuff. When I was in my late teens sharing a house with 3 other girls I don't remember being this chaotic. But then if I was I guess it didn't matter !

Shows how long it is since I ventured on to Flylady, forgot CHAOS was a flyladyism. I think I got as far a shiny sink maybe 2 days in a row sometime back in 2007.

Elantan I'll go with that do you love it system, I get all indecisive, but know once it's gone, it's gone.

Hi Polly, yes I do get what you mean. Hoping the nostalgic value of 'stuff' will eventually wear thin enough to be discarded.

So today, I have paid £200 off my Barclaycard (had this card for nearly 25 years in form or another, you'd think they would give a girl a nice little interest rate cut after so long.)

I have to find at least two things to get rid of.

    Pleased it is Friday.

    Ooooh hi DC

Can I join your decluttering diary? I've only one more week at work and I plan to spend the week after that throwing everything away that isn't nailed down, then I'm off on hols for a week but it will be lovely to come home from a week away to a clean uncluttered house :)

Yay to Friday and it's my payday AND :shhh: OH mentioned that he 'might' be going out tonight, which means I get the remote :j (and a take away ;))..... :shhh: must not get hopes up though cos my whole world will crash if I come home and find him sat on the sofa :rotfl:

Oooh Jeez, look at the time, must dash ;) have a good day :)
