Great news DC. Really chuffed for you.My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)
May 2013 £124,080.27= £37,903.50 paid off WOW!!!!! Well done! There is a guardian angel out there! :AI'm visualising success, debt freeness, and happy days!:T0 -
And more....
Here's how it went, tried to print resignation letter at 08.20 yesterday morning, as usual I ended up cursing the printer as it refused to do anything but blink at me. Fleeting thought - email it to him ? No because then he'd receive it before I arrived at work. So went straight in to see him.
Came out 10 minutes later - loving my printer - because I now have 2 jobs ! My present position would 'really appreciate it' if I would consider doing 2 days a week which would fit in perfectly with new position. So I have a 37 hour week, and have an extra £220 a month.
Woop ! Woop !DC.

Go DC - what a fabulous outcome. The stars are lining up for you to have a fantastic year. I guess that all those interviews gave you confidence to tackle the issue. Way to go.
I am so pleased for you

*Wanders in out of lurkdom*
Got lots to catch up on diary wise, juggling so many balls, but I thought I'd take a few hours out to see how you are all doing this wet and rainy Sunday morning.
This is my only day off this week, and my brain decided 5.45am was time to wake..don't you just hate that ?
So whats different corners have I turned ? Well with two jobs it is tough, taxman loves it, but I'm hoping he will refund sooner rather than later because the extra earnings aren't really showing as yet.
But I have to say that two different sets of office politics, two very different approaches to work and practice is also very hard ! However things are changing again. Am leaving my original job of nearly 4 years because I have extra hours at new job from next month. I can't honestly say I love it, but I can say it's given me a confidence boost. Get to meet loads of people, talk food, and have a giggle.
Financially I am struggling, nothing new there. I have 12 months of this loan left, well 339 days actually. And the truth is - once again - that I keep wandering off the frugal path. After a 10 hour shift, with no menu plan I wander into the supermarket on my way home and spend £30 because the 'oh s*d it' devil is sitting on my shoulder.
The solution ? Menu plan, do a tesco delivery then you wouldn't have to line the pockets of another multi million pound organisation on a jaunt through the aisles picking up lavender candles, dog treats, jaffa cakes and chicken joints . (not really a balanced diet is it ?)
As usual I have a mountain of stuff to ebay, a humungous pile of ironing, a dyson that refuses to do anything but make a very odd and loud noise, two teenagers that eat anything and everything, and a utilities bill that just made me shrug when I opened it.
But having said all that, I know I'm in a better place that I was this time last year. That's emotionally. Even though I have a very limited social life mainly conducted at this keyboard/I'm always too tired or working - I know I deserve to be happy. And I will be. This debt business is holding me back, because it's my secret, nobody knows but you lot and me ! But it shouldn't define me.
So here we go again !DC.
