Yep DC, need to get a bit healthier. I'm slimish and eat quite well at work/cook from scratch a lot but I do snack a lot and am a bit muffiny at the mo so need to move it too! Loved the lists site and will give that a think! P.S My oven is bogging too!

  • Souk I am the same, meal times my plate is usually loaded with leafy greans and required nutrients, happy with main diet, but pass the jelly babies round, or a sniff of a minstrel and all good intentions are gone.

My book wish list is growing don't think this Waterstones voucher is going to stretch very far, really want to read this :

The Happiness Project: Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun

sounds right up my street !

Jo want to get into some spiritual stuff book wise hence Dalai Lama is in the list. I love a good James Patterson but could do with confirming my positive attitude now and again.

So to read list is three books heavier already this week !

    Morning DC,

Just doing a quick catch up on the diaries as I have been away. Trouble is I have just read yours and now my book wish list is longer too. I love books, any books. I read lots of fiction and James Patterson is a favourite. I do try to read what I call "intelligent" books too and Dalai Llama the Art of Happiness is a really good book. I am not religious and do not follow any religion but I find the Dalai Llama books so interesting to read and he is very witty.
Sounds like you finally got on with ebay. Well done.

  • Morning Cheri ! Welcome back, hope you are rested !
Also have a must read of Eckhart Tolle, The Power Of Now.

Have spent the last hour going through utility bills and making over payments to make things easier come November, because Oct/Nov brings a neverending stream of bills from car tax through to leccy, gas and car insurance, throw a bit of Christmas in and I'm sunk !

I have just joined my library so I will also check the books out there.
DC I just wanted to echo what Jo said about the job. I spent 26 years in a job that I was unhappy in for at least 20 of those years. I stayed because I was scared that if I moved then I might end up out of work. You say that the job sounds perfect. How would you feel if you just applied to see how you fared. I eventually decided to go for a new job when my friend moved to NZ. She had lived in several places and changed jobs regularly. Lots of the jobs were temporary. When she went to NZ I told her she was very brave. She said something to me that stopped me in my tracks. She said. "Cheri - when we were young you were going to see the world and live your life no matter what. You have settled into a fearful life. You need to live your life for your passion not your pension because you might never get to the point of collecting that pension!" I thought about this and realised that she was right. If I continued to live my life in a safe manner I would look back and think if only. Since then I have changed jobs a couple of times each time better job, better life, better money. I try not to think about what if because I think Jo is right. If you move jobs you build bigger networks and more work comes your way.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

  • Thank You Cheri, I like the passion not pension reference.
I am forever worrying and often reflect on my total fearlessness as an 18 year old, nothing really mattered. If I hadn't acted that way I would never have met DH, and the rest would be a different history.

A girl needs to hear quotes like that each day.
