  • SH - You have confirmed what I thought. Most of these books were aquired over many years at boot fairs or charity shops, 50p - £1 at most, because of the nature of them I just don't see any real interest. Maybe I'll just drop a few into charity shops each day, there must be 80 or so in total. I think the library could do with some of the autobiographies. Think I have to be ruthless, they've been stored under the stairs/in cupboards since DH bought them.

I gave a load of books to the charity shop at the weekend, and the lady there said that they always wanted books - more than anything else!

    Morning DC et al.

Regarding the books. I had the same problem when I was moving house. Seems that charity shops are the way to go. Dont think of it as being ruthless, think of the pleasure that your (your OH) will be bringing to somebody who wouldnt normally find/be able to afford those books. I often find really good recipe books in my local charity shops and I thank the person who donated it every time I find one.

Attics - love them. When I go into an attic I always imagine myself as one of the secret seven or famous five when they come across a dilapidated cottage with cobwebs and they sweep up, put gingham curtains at the window and have big adventures. OK so I never grew up and it helps me overcome my fear of mice and other scurrying things that might be there.

Who knows you might be one of those people we see on the antiques roadshow who says, oh its just been stuck in the attic for years. and they say Well it is worth thousands. Go on, get yourself up there. :rotfl:

So it will wear off then, just that I had these visions of me and mad dog, Rocky theme, running the beach....:rotfl::rotfl:

You often find these positions turn into something more permanent if you prove yourself....plus she might not return to work....plus, it's always easier to find a job when you're in one (are you in one??)
