Very best of luck; I had all my teeth out during the 1980s, so I can empathise with you. I'm sure you'll be fine.:o
:eek::eek:
Oh me oh my!
Thank you again everyone - I hadnt even thought of eggs. Will I have to worry about food getting stuck in the wound? I can only imagine myself (in nightmares!) getting a bit of cous cous stuck in the stiches and then tearing them out by mistake as I try to get it dislodged... ick ick ick
I'm sure I'll be fine once I get there, its just the nervious anticipation!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

Do what youre dentist tells you about food, you should be eating normally within a day or two.
I had all my top teeth out 3 months ago and a denture put straight in. I didnt suffer any pain what so ever
apart from where the denture didnt fit properly in one place. As for the cavities - like I say no problem what soever.
Just rest afterwards, its the anaesthetc that is the worst problem.
Dont worry, if youre having a GA it'll be a piece of cake.................(no pun intended :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Hi,
Not too sure where best to place this... I've got a problem with my jaw which has really flared up the last couple of weeks. I've been told I need to eat a soft diet, nothing chewy, crunchy like granola, bread etc, nothing that requires much chewing, nothing where I have to open my mouth wide - like apples etc. I need to rest my jaw as much as possible basically.
So two weeks in and i'm getting very bored of porridge and HM smoothies for breakfast, and HM soups for lunch. Dinner i've been eating a range of things, not always sticking to the above rules, but now my jaw has really flared up, so I definately need to.
Just looking for some inspiration really for vegetarian things I can eat. I normally eat really healthy food, and am not a big fan of pasta. I normally love cooking, and really enjoy making food, but it's become such a chore recently that I'm struggling0 -
sweet potato's very filling and nourishing, more than ordinary potato and softer. You could add well cooked butternut and some well cooked soft, small pulses or lentils (if you can tolerate them). Some chili sauce or masala to spice it up a bit. Can you eat or do you like couscous as it is quite soft.
You are probably sick to death of mashed banana, but you can add yoghurt to it and some syrup or honey and it's not bad. Hope someone else is along here soon with some ideas that aren't soup (my sympathies, don't like soup much either!).0 -

Congee???
I'm wondering whether this is one possible idea for you? Congee, I gather, being rice cooked up until its VERY soft indeed. Seems to be basically a Chinese way of using this??
White rice would lend itself best to this - and, of course, a lot of the goodness is taken out in the process of turning brown rice into white rice - but I guess you could investigate ways of adding nutrients back into it (eg decent quality honey/organic pureed fruit/etc)???
I'm guessing you could vary this with other suitable grains substituted for rice??
Personally - I'd be cooking myself up some bread and milk sometimes. That is - wholemeal bread broken into tiny pieces cooked up in milk with some decent honey in to flavour and various flavourings (eg cinnamon, nutmeg, etc) - as that would be healthy but easy for your jaws to manage.
Steamed veg. in a casserole dish with cheese sauce or tahini sauce over the top and breadcrumbs or mashed potato on top baked in the oven.
Home-made veggie soups with some leftover cooked grains (eg brown rice) in and topped off with some grated cheese.0 -
