Turn fresh seasonal fruit into fruit fool for a tasty no-chewing-required dessert.
A little grated cheese livens up scrambled egg.
Thanks for all the ideas on this thread, btw - I often get major bouts of really evil mouth ulcers, and have to live on soft food for days at a time, so ideas are always welcome. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Make sure you still get enough vitamins and iron ,even if its just vitamin drink
I have been on mush since Jan ,really only eating mash and soft veg and odd bit of lean mince ( poorly upper digestive tract )
Now ended up with more complication due to anemia
Hope you recover quickly and resume normal eating soon:j0 -
Hi all -
I'll be having all 4 (:eek::eek:) of my wisdom teeth out next month. General anasthetic and the whole nine yards! Obviously not looking forward to it.
Any suggestions on food to stock up on in advance? Soup seems a likely option, but would rather not be having soup for every meal! I imagine that my mouth will be in pain, but Im not sure chewing will be an issue, iswim? Does anyone have experience of this? I'm veggie, by the way.
On the bright side, my head will be twice its normal size for a week or two so at least I'll be indoors and very MSE indeed!
Any suggestions would be most welcome.Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

Soft scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes and gravy, yoghourt, soft mousse type puddings, porridge, smoothies, milk shakes, soup.
Felines are my favourite

I had all four of mine out at once under GA - it's really not too bad, I was up eating porridge the next morning (starving by then) and eating normally within a couple of days. Just taking ordinary painkillers for a few days. It was the anaesthetic that knocked me for 6 rather than the teeth out.

Here are some ideas I came up with
Breakfast: Porridge or Mashed Bananas and honey
Lunch: Soup or Scrambled Egg
Dinner: Mashed potato and cheese
Pudding: Rice Pudding or Jelly
If I come up with more I will let you know0 -
When I had my bottom 2 out under GA I wasn't in pain (apart from my lips were a bit cracked), and was only swollen for the first day where my mouth had been stretched open, but other than that, I was fine - stopped taking the pain killers fairly early on, as I didn't need them. As a previous poster has said, the main thing that affected me was the GA - I was quite tired and weak for a couple of weeks after. I'm veggie too, and I think I remember eating pasta for the first day, but I was eating normally by the second day. The holes were all stitched up, so no problems there.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Hello Nottoobadyet,
I suffer badly with mouth ulcers - I get "spates" of them and have to live on soft food when that happens. Like you, I'm veggie.
A lot of my "staples" have been mentioned - I go through loads of scrambled eggs:D, but also, to make meals interesting, don't forget you can add things like tomato puree (to mash or eggs), Marmite if you like it, lots of different fruits can be pureed for tasty puds, you can have custard if you like it, too. Oh, and don't forget good old cous cous.
Very best of luck; I had all my teeth out during the 1980s, so I can empathise with you. I'm sure you'll be fine.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
